Hahaha! 20m for Emi would be daylight robbery. Sell! People here in love with him over a short burst of form are don't realize that its just a short burst of form that happens with all players. Through out his entire career here, he has done sweet FA apart from this small period of decent form. He is easily replaced by 5-10m or a loan.

The other thing with this Emi vs. Leno stuff is what makes anyone confident that if/when a big club like Bayern makes a move on Leno his head won’t be turned? Emi is more Arsenal through and through.

Yeah Mr Arsenal Emi demanding the no.1 shirt or he will leave after 15 decent performances. Such loyalty.
He is 28. You can't really blame him for wanting regular games at that age. He's had to wait long enough. I'd say it shows remarkable loyalty to come through the ranks and still be here after so many years of being overlooked.

The real question is why we ever wasted so much money on Leno to begin with. Set pieces have always been one of our biggest weaknesses and yet we sign a gk who flaps at every cross without getting near most (and punching the ones he does), making our defence even more vulnerable. At his age, Leno should be able to catch the God damned ball already.

If its anything close to £20 million we should bite their hand off. Thats almost half of Partey or Aouar, and we need one or both of them a lot more than we need two good keepers.

Leno is younger and vastly more experienced. If someone had said we'd get £20 million for Martinez even six months ago no one would have believed it. If he's really as good as people think he is he wouldn't have been second or third choice for multiple managers and overlooked for multiple other keepers. Sell high.

The real question is why we ever wasted so much money on Leno to begin with.

Wasted 25 million euros? When we needed a starting goalkeeper.

Have you looked at the goalkeeper market in recent years?

Leno has ~300 top level league games, is not old for a keeper and just started for Germany.

He has performed on a solid level for a long long time.

He was a bargain.

Sell Emi at his highest value now (20/25M) before he goes back to the bench and get Fraser Forster on loan (32 y.o, PL experience, cheap, not a starter at Southampton, coming back from a loan with the Celtics...)

Leno is our number 1

Martinez deserves to be number 1, don't know if we can accommodate that here though.

Martinez should rightly keep his place until further notice as he has earned it, but Leno is our true #1.

I sincerely hope this to be a ****ing joke or a wind-up from those who like to see Arsenal fans mad. Arsenal through and through, been here for ten years, our longest serving player, and a top top class goalkeeper, who's much better than Leno with the ball at his feet, going for crosses, passing or kicking the ball, leading the defence, and just as good at everything else... - You simply don't sell that kind of player!!! Especially not for £20 million!!!!!

Of course he's gonna expect to keep playing, all until he ****s up, and for longer too, if his general performance merits it. He deserves it more than anyone else. Leno should just sit down or ask for a transfer.

I'd like EMI to start here, not even sure he will but imo he's the no1 until he's dropping the shirt. That's how it is for a keeper and he sire as hell haven't lost his place. Though 20m would probably be good for the club.

For me, Emi continues to play until his form dictates otherwise. If by midseason/end of the season he's still playing like he is doing we sell Leno for 30m plus.

Who’s buying a keeper who has sat on the bench for most of the season for £30m? These scenarios sound great on paper but the reality is they’ll never happen.

Why so serieuse?
Take the money. Emi and Leno are about the same, and Im happy to either to stay or leave. But we need the 20m, so if its been offered for Martinez then we have to accept that.

Because that's the price needed to make it worth it for us. Here's a question for you that maybe clarifies the reasoning for wanting more.

What do we gain from selling Martinez for 20m if we then have to spend a fair amount of that to competently replace him? I don't think ~10m is worth it to downgrade our goalkeeper when Martinez has the potential to be our #1 choice, let alone an important cup keeper and backup.

If we need to sell to buy, we should be more active in selling more readily-replaced assets in Bellerin, Torreira, Guendouzi, Sokratis, Holding, Mustafi... the club is dropping the ball there.

Selling the high-upside, homegrown, club-loving goalkeeper for a net of 10m isn't the move we should be prioritizing imo.

If we sell Emi that says a lot of out miserably ambition. We will be again one injury away from calamity almunia level keeper.

BTW I will laugh every time Leno gift a ball at set pieces and remember you how shiit he is in the air. And even more if his knee gets injured again after keeping the goalkeeper with a recently keen injury.

They don’t understand bro. 20m for a keeper with 20 top flight games under his belt is unbelievable ROI for us.

Just sell already. He gets to start games and leave on a high. We can’t guarantee anyone a starting spot. Especially not when we have 2 proper goalkeepers. Not going to get this money again.

Is Leno capable to play it out as comfortably under pressure as Martinez does? Don't think so. Arteta relies on that against anyone though(see games vs city and pool)
Martinez plays an important role in making us more press resistant.
