Doesn't make sense that he went straight to Qatar afterwards instead of seeing his brother, surely he could have got treatment in Manchester too. I don't really buy Yaya's story, seems like he feels guilty and is trying to blame someone else.

If Manchester City really did deny him the chance to see his dying brother then that's really low. Surely their club will say something about this whole thing.

Tony Carr is stepping down as Academy Director after more than 40 years. Absolute legend and the man who "found/made" players like Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Paul Ince, Joe Cole, Jermaine Defoe, Glen Johnson, John Terry and more recently Mark Noble and James Tomkins.

Absolute legend and he will be sorely missed, although he is taking on an ambassador role at the club.

Isn't Noble an Arsenal product? Respect to Carr, played an integrel part in churning out these great talents. Though its gone quiet in recent years.

In other news, Laudrup got his wish and signed for a big club, Qatari serial champions Lekhwiya SC.

Never heard of that if that's true. Doesn't say anything from a quick look on Wikipedia, says Noble started at us in 2000 when he was 13.

It's gone quiet recently because of several factors. Chelsea becoming a huge club has significantly increased competition for youngsters around London together with you lot also focusing heavily on your academy.

Not to mention the shower of **** we've gone through recently with several manager changes and almost going into administration isn't exactly the greatest environment for youngster to develop and push through when you're scrambling around looking for a "safe" way to stay competetive.

I'm guessing he was hoping for the job at Spuds but didn't get it, and therefor decided to earn a ****ton of money while basically waiting for another ideal job opportunity to develop.

There isn't a lot of obvious choices right now if he wants a step up from Swansea, or even something on a similar level.

he told whufc.com: “I was at Arsenal as a young kid before I went to West Ham and they probably did develop me as a player a bit.

He was here for a few years, probably not long enough for us to take any credit for his development though.

I'm still worried that Van Gall will go for Alexis, they have money to burn, as we do but they seem to be more willing to go crazy. 64m for Shaw + Herrera, no doubt they will go big for a winger, so important to have some pace and skill on the wings in the Van Gall 4-3-3. Valencia, Janujaz is not at the right level so they will go for Di Maria or Alexis for sure in my opinion.

No, I think they'll go for Depay.

In the other thread there was a quote from Spanish radio saying Sanchez was not interested in United because of the lack of Champions League football.

... and apparently Di Maria doesn't want to live in Manchester. That and the fact that United aren't in the CL, which would be a massive come down from winning the thing with RM. Looks like it could be Cuadrado for United and perhaps Vidal also as he has stated he is open to a move there.

Christ saw this on twitter as well, its's a bunch of bull****. That banner suddenly disappeared around late December 2013, when there were tons of storms in London which I don't think is a coincidence. Haven't been round the Emirates for a couple of weeks but last time I checked (and it was after the Chelsea move) his banner on the Fitzman bridge was still there.
