Anybody up for swapping Mustafi for Bailly, straight up? The clubs do have a recent history of January swap deals. :p
That would be like selling them Silvestre back. We need to get even for that self sabotage Wenger made.
As for Bailly, isn't he kind of injury prone? We already got a good deal of crocks in our squad as it is.

This isn't happening. Think he'd be great here though. Long term successor to Koscielny.

In seriousness, I think he'd probably be quite easy to sign right now. We have a plethora of CB's around the same level but Bailly hasn't been given a run of games after a succession of injuries and mistakes. Really depends on if Emery is willing to take the chance.

Mistakes and injury prone you say? He’ll do fine here.

Bailly is just an injury prone version of Mustafi, he had a string of 4 great games at the start of his Utd career and has been living off them since. Like Musatfi he has low football IQ, zero awareness and never seems to learn from his mistakes. He can show moments of brilliance and composure followed by moments of utter panic station.

It's a shame Mustafi isn't injury prone

Would be all for this. Think he'd excel here. Long term replacement for Koscielny. Not as good, but similar style.

Good calibre of clubs seem to be circling.

Still only 24 & his rise was rapid... Broke through at Espanyol then sold after just a few games & only 1.5 seasons at Villareal before the giant United move. Even played a few games at RB so talking about roughly 30 pro games at CB before United.

Get him settled in a partnership & would expect him to kick on. Feel he has a high ceiling.

Sounds like paper talk. I doubt Utd would sell, despite his poor season so far. He played very well for them in between all those injuries. Similar to the Martial situation, they know he’s an asset. Utd’s heads might be eejits, but they’re not silly enough to sell a young talented asset to a rival when they know he could come good. It doesn’t add up.

At the same time, he's rated around 30 to 40m, which will make United demand more like 50 to 60m. If he doesn't kick on at Utd he's another one I'd wager on running down his contract.

We have an established Sokratis, an improving Holding and a promising Mavropanos. Mustafi has done well this season and Koscielny may still have a season and a half in him. Good young players coming up in the youth teams.

Why on earth would we waste money on a proven failure? Manu have only ever sold us cheap rubbish. In this case they would seek to make lots of money from a player who they are dying to get rid of just because they're selling to us.

Let them live with their mistakes as we live with ours. No thanks. PASS.
