Ethan Nwaneri: Dortmund Germanation

And I think more than just the G/A themselves, the confidence and assuredness he'll get from bagging them will help.

Sometimes for me, an attacking midfielder's swagger from having numbers also allows them to have impactful games where they don't score or assist.

They attempt bolder passes, the control games, they instil fear, they draw players to them and away from others etc.
Too bad he is not the Arda Guler type of player.

He had 5 shots yesterday, that's more like it. Ethan closer to goal >>>>>

I understand why he's working on his 2nd phase stuff but the second he starts getting G/A, we're gonna see his best.
He has a very high potential for end product. I don't think he is similar to Ødegaard at all. His technique is beautiful, but his more of an attacking player than a creative one. To me, he is a player that can get 40g/a in all competitions in his prime if he develops well. Just needs to improve his off the ball work defensively, his conditioning and athleticism (strength/power). That's really the edge MLS and Dowman have over him, the physicality and robustness. Develop this guy into a Romario/Aguero hybrid lol. I don't think Arteta has the patience or talent for it

Should have been kept instead of Madueke, he can atleast finish and isn't braindead.

Confirmed start for Ethan

And they're starting with the "front 3" I called for after the 2nd half of Ethan's debut: Ethan, Fabio Silva, Guirassy

This should be a good game. I'll watch and give thoughts at full time.

Perhaps now with this new injury to Karetsas they'll start with Guirassy and Silva up top, and Ethan behind them in the 10. Both times I’ve seen them that's when all 3 looked very good.

Fabio Silva guys...

One of the hyped Porto/Portugal/FM wonderkids. Just turned 24. But I've been impressed with him every time I've tuned in to watch Ethan.

Second striker/false 9 type, but if he could play off the left... :eyess:

Hate to say it but he's been ass today. His worst ever game.

My st.ream died, but yeah he's basically been a passenger.

But the same can be said for all their players in the middle. Jobe Bellingham, in these past 2/3 games I've watched, has also looked mid.

Something about the way they play doesn't highlight central third players, maybe?

Tbh that’s him 8/10 times. He’s on the peripheral of the game. He lacks vision imo. He just don’t see things quick and play at high pace combination game

That's cause he is more of a forward. Just technically gifted, but doesn't have the creativity or vision to play as a 10. He has enough creativity and very good instincts in the final third.

Fully agree. He looks a second striker playing in midfield. His movement and action of the ball is like a forward who dropped deep. But his main issue is he lacks intensity

That will make it very difficult for him to find a role in a modern team (which perfectly suits him) where he doesn't have enough creative and ball playing traits to play as a 10, maybe doesn't have the dynamism and legs to be a modern winger, or the height and physicality to play as a lone striker.

I don't know how much interest Chelsea had in him but he is much better suited to the inside right role they have, rather than the outside right. Wonder if Chelsea would want to trade him for Estevao.

What‘s up with these non-chalant young players? He‘s acting as if he has already made it. Starting to think we should‘ve sold in the summer.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
