Ethan Nwaneri: New Nwan-era?

Maybe

You're wrong, no?
Nothing to complain about, he did have a few nice moves but the game was dead by the time he was brought in.

Like how he can dance on the penalty area between players, gonna be a massive asset in the future

Had Arteta signed a player with Nwaneri's talent, he'd be starting.

Look how he is shoehorning in Merino.

It's sad. Put the kid in the game where we are already down on the road in a hostile environment and a must win.

"We must protect him". Yeah, right.

Start the kid. Give him a chance. It ain't like our attack is doing anything anyway.

It has been almost a month since we last won a PL game.

He still showed, even in the few touches he got on the ball, an impetus lacking in the rest of the midfield options. He did more with those limited moments than Merino for example. The collective malaise was just too much for him to have a real impact today.

I'd probably start him against inter we really have nothing to lose and in CL there space for him to play his game.

Arteta was brave giving him 60 minutes today but he really done a little and I expected because the team around him stink the place out

No point in blaming him but people really need to chill with their current expectations of him. He ain't ready like Fabregas was at the same age & that's totally fine
You put 17 year old Fabregas out there today and he won't do anything either lol. Y'all like the overrate past players cause of nostalgia. Just like people keep saying 19 year old Wilshere dominated prime Barca lol

I know he was poor today but I still trust him over Drossard. In fact, if we lose another league game, I say **** it and develop Nwaneri. We might as well use this season as a free hit and replace Arteta with a serious gaffer.

The Arteta special. Subbing the young player on when the rest of the team has **** the bed and then expects him to do something. Back to U21 for Nwaneri now when he should be starting.

So when he starts games in future, what are you going to say next? That he must be the first player off the bus when arriving at games?

Seems we'll never win this one... there always has to be something to complain about.

While you looking for your next talking point... go and look at the games played by 17 year old Saka, and 17 year old Messi while you at it.

Didn't change the game sadly, struggle to get into it. That'll happen when the team is playing badly sometimes so it changes nothing for me. He did get a couple nice touches towards the end but didn't really get into the game at all. He'll have better cameos.

Thought he got into some good positions, and rolled a few of his markers too. This kid is some player already.

I think we will see more of him, particularly when we need unseen situations he can produce and be involved in. They can serve as game breaking moments for us perhaps.

Like the journey he is on this season... Now for Lewis-Skelly to join in more.

All these minutes is good for experience I didn't expect him to have impact you can't have impact when your teammate can't even pass the ball

He was just about okay when he came on. You can't expect a kid to step the whole side up in today's circumstances.

It does put into perspective though that being stand out against League One or Championship sides doesn't mean a huge amount beyond showing the level of potential he has for the future.

You can't expect a 17 year old kid to be our main creative hub, it's not fair to put that pressure on him, the experienced pros need to be the ones to step up and he needs the time to develop at his own rate.

Agree. He came on with 30 minutes to go against Newcastle defending deep with 10 men behind the ball. Game state made assessing his cameo very difficult.

There were other players who found it easier against Preston than Newcastle too. He struggled for the same reasons they did.

They denied us space, defended deep, and allowed us to have the ball in areas we couldn’t hurt them. Pretty simple formula.

The expectation is definitely cringe. The justification is that whilst Ødegaard is out and we didn't sign back up Nwaneri is good and old enough.

Feel like it's a bit short sighted and mostly eagerness with the hyper fixation on teenagers.

Arsenal Quotes

When I am asked why I stayed at Arsenal so long.. my answer is simple; I never wanted to be anywhere else. I could have earned a lot more elsewhere, but that wouldn't compensate for all the good years at Highbury.
