Ethan Nwaneri: Nwan Of Nwan

Nwaneri was good, but Saka is world class and would tear Leicester apart if he was healthy and in form. Did you forget the performance Saka had against Liverpool after he returned from injury earlier in the season?

No doubt who the better and more proven player is. I was just giving a hypothetical scenario

Don’t think we will have much of a problem fitting himself and Saka into the team. CF/LW and even AM is pretty much absent of any real quality at the moment. Who knows what his best position is anyway he’s 17 and he’s only played a handful of games at this level.

We are so lucky to have him and MLS after getting Saka

It's just critical to manage their game time and not run them into the ground, People hate on Sterling but honestly he was another talented youngster who played a ton of football and has a lot of mileage at a young age.

We need to manage their careers right.

Id like to figure out where he goes when we have Saka fit.

Like others have said his quality is higher than Trossard, Martinelli, Merino and co already. Which means you start him at RW, LW, LCM or RCM. He really is that good.

Big decision to make in the summer, this is the spark that we would've needed to sign for £100M.

How would you guys feel about a frontline of

Nwaneri - Martinelli - Saka

Feel like Martinelli has that goalscorers instinct and would really help stretch teams in transition from a more central area, and Saka/Nwaneri can pepper shots at goal if teams defend too deep against us.

Nelli has shown he's decent in the air in the past as well.

Where at the point where it’s worth a try, although I don’t think GM is optimal at 9 in the current t system.

I think Ethan LW is the most obvious position to get him into the side though.

1. They don't play the same position.

2. This is a horrendous comparison because Messi changed position to accommodate the Suarez addition.

Messi spent his entire career shifting between RW and CF depending on what other players were available. He's literally the perfect example of it being worthwhile to move your best player around.
They just aren’t getting it bro

I’ve used the Bale and Di Maria example, the Raphinha and Yamal and countless Messi examples both with him as a prospect and as the best player in the world.

I’m just thankful that Arteta doesn’t have such a one track mind or Ethan would be in trouble

Never thought I’d see the day where @Geofranco and @Dokaka are the ones backing me up

Thought I was going mad suggesting that moving Saka around could be best for the team

Next step is for Ethan to continue to impress even with the double teams that could start to come as soon as next game. If he can handle that to a decent level then all of this talk of accommodating him in the lineup becomes a serious talking point for next season and probably saves us 50M+ in the transfer window.

Feel like the same guys who are worried about moving players around are the same ones that were cautious about playing our talents in the dead rubber game last season 😂

There’s no harm in trying to fit them all in for the better of the team imo.
Also the same guys who applauded Arteta for subbing Ethan at half time after a difficult half, turned out he was just injured lol.
If Nwaneri has great game vs West Ham we will get the first sell Saka post. Arsenal fans don’t deserve good things
Ah here comes brother Rasmi arguing against things that haven’t/won’t happen.

Don’t bring up one deranged Twitter user as an example either

He’s not the perfect example. Messi was never moved to the left side of the pitch, which is what you guys are suggesting for Saka.

Messi played centrally or on the right. He could still predominantly play on his left foot.

Putting Saka on the left severely reduces his effectiveness because of the angles he will be forced to play at. The most natural movement for him will be to go on the outside of the fullback, which isn’t optimal for him because he isn’t the fastest and also you lose a lot of his cutting in and finishing/passing threat.

The left and right are fundamentally different positions for wingers.

I've already seen one, not here but in other forum.
By an Arsenal fan (at least he declared that he is Arsenal fan).

16-27 is a long career mate

Some guys just don't seen to get this point. If you start early, you likely finish early. If you start late, you likely finish late. Just because you were finished at the top level at 28, doesn't mean you had a poorer career for it, if you also started at 17. That's still more than 10 years of top flight performances and is in no way worse or better than someone who started at 23 and finished at 34.

Always thought 9 suited Martinelli in those Europa games years ago. Looked a really composed finisher back then.

Seems a totally different player now to me but we might have to try it when he's fit again.

I think he can’t be dropped when Saka comes back even if it means Ode gets benched. Play him anywhere in attack. He is young learning every attack position is good for him. He should be rested but he should be among the first choice lineup regardless of position. 10, 7,11, 8, false 9 whatever. Still watch his minutes a little

I have no idea what Mikel's plans with him are. He's doing great at RW but think we can also really use his abilities in central positions

Bukayo is a tyrant.

He banished uncle Wrighty from the club for the blasphemous claim that he should be moved to left back to accommodate “Foden” and “Palmer”.

You lot have been warned.

People are over thinking this stuff.

We've had this before on A-M where elements of A-M were desperate to move Saka to the left to accommodate Pepe.

At least Nwaneri is actually good so it's progress of a sort of I guess.

We've had it with England too. Saka being shunted around to make way for others and becoming the victim of his own versality and I don't care for it.

He's our star player, let's give him the best platform to do it. Cutting in off the right is a big element of that.

Anyway ultimately I see Saka as more of a 10 type but I don't think the time for that is for a couple of seasons.

I felt like Martinelli's future was at CF back in the day. He hasn't developed that way, but I'd consider trying it at this time of desperation.
