It's not completely without merit tbh. How long have we collectively complained about Saka constantly being in areas that aren't threatening on a game-by-game basis? Saka being triple teamed the way he often is is a result of his often being deeper or wider in the field either due to him doing his considerable defensive duties or in the name of "positional play". The only counter to this would be the fact that we don't have a comparable LW to soak up some of that pressure but Saka's defensive work is still a fair amount for someone of his offensive quality. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's another factor of why Saka often does even more work than he should have to do for a talismanic figure that the team should probably be platforming better. Might seem unreasonable but Saka is one of the best players in the league and in Europe. IMO we could be getting way more out of him than we are.Appearently Saka is doing more tracking back than attacking against team that are sitting in a low block![]()

Look at his defensive statistics vs the likes of Palmer, Salah, Vini, Mbappe; he ****ing has the defensive stats of PL full backs.
Watch the likes of Palmer and Salah - they literally sit on deck chairs OOP
And scored after 10 minutesStarting for the U/21s tonight
The goal:
Look at how devastating he is in central areas man. Now watch him ride the touchline for us next game out![]()

I honestly wish Dowman was right footedHe reminds me of the mighty duck character played by Keenan on that left foot he has. Give him any space and his left foot is so accurate that he is going to hit the target or be very close.
What's crazy is Saka, Nwaneri, Lewis Skelly, and Dowman are all left foot dominant. Something about those lefties I tell ya.
On the bright side, the way our academy is going, we may only have to bother scouting right footed players, which are by far the majority! Of the right footers, Rosiak, Casey, Annous, Ife Ibrahim, Salmon and Bailey-Joseph all have a chance - if they develop well - to maybe make it to squad players. No doubt there are others younger still.I honestly wish Dowman was right footed
