It's a double edged sword really because he's struggled to perform the role exactly like Ødegaard has done at his best so I don't think it's a guarantee that he'd have played well but just on the off chance that he is in a good shooting position, I trust him to do the needful more than most players in the squad (fit or otherwise).

I just think the roles are starting to become a little too rigid for an Arteta team.
I think the game needed something different from even the good version of Ødegaard. Watching Doue do whatever he felt like and causing havoc in the final third for them is precisely what we needed. Ethan could have introduced that directness and willingness to try things that Ødegaard doesn't have even when he's on his game.

I hear it. It made me wish Max Dowman was a few years older and more ready to play.

We do lack players with a bit of flamboyance though, and creativity. Doue should really be our player man, that's Wenger heritage right there. We're starting to produce them now though.

Can't help but wonder how well Wenger would do with a lot of these French youngsters if he had a blank cheque.

Yeah I'm not sure if he'd have picked us over PSG but it's annoying that we didn't try.

I have already accepted Ethan will not become the player I thought start of the sea. I already see regression and Ode like tendencies. Predictable not only in his play, but in the same spot on the pitch all the time like Ode. All unpredictability will be coached out of him and we will dream of players like Doue thinking he would develop differently here

He picked PSG over Bayern didn’t he? A lot of teams should be kicking themselves. I’m looking at how much a club like Chelsea has splurged on wingers and they haven’t got anyone close to Doué’s level

Every club knew about him. He picked psg over them and once psg showed how serious they were. No French kid is gonna pick others over them in

Still Pining for Wenger
I wonder if Nwaneri is carrying a knock or something.

Its weird how he was performing so well and now barely gets a look in.

Contract issues?

I think he was hitting a physical wall and of course Saka came back to that was always going to diminish his gametime. There's zero good reason for how little he's played in the last couple of matches though. Pure stupidity on Arteta's part.

The best shooter in the team played 5 mins across a tie where we were behind for most of it and struggled for goals.

Say what you want about his abilities to receive in this current Arsenal shape, the fact is if you give him the ball in shooting positions he will usually cause problems.

I got plenty of flack for saying I don’t think he has long term future with Arteta. He just don’t have clue how to nurture and trust a talent like this who’s not defensive or out and out clear position

Arsenal Quotes

Football is a bit like elections. Before it's unpredictable. After it's unexplainable... But there's an opportunity for us to make it unforgettable.
