Makes you wonder what becomes of Saka if he were coming through now. Before the Arteta lawyers break down my doors:

1. We don’t know if Saka was better there’s no way to know

2. Saka came through with a fraction of expectations and records than Ethan did, not many saw Saka coming

3. It’s difficult for a title chasing team to develop players such as this at the same time so try not to take my above statement personal.

Truly believe Saka being able to play LB and midfield got him in the team. Came through as a head down workhorse.

Feel like these days unless you’re immediately an Mbappe level teenager you’re not getting game time in attacking positions.

Agreed, this is something you could argue that Saka has in his favour and he would have blown regardless.

He has no problems with the boring aspects as it’s baked into his overall game.

Agree with your general point, but dispute the bolded it. Those of us who watched the youth team etc knew that he had a chance to be special. Even then his decision making was just so far ahead of his peers, and he was physically sufficiently developed to cope with playing against Men. Obviously didn't see him becoming our star player, but was confident he'd make an impact.

But as many have said, that is partly a reflection on how crap our squad was then...

I thought he did more than enough in 24/25 as a 17 year old playing regular first team football and showing that he has the talent and ability to make it at this level and contribute at least in a squad role. Him being almost fully frozen last season out was a surprise. Arteta must be unhappy with his attitude because I don’t think it’s a question of ability given what we saw the year before.

Has tools to be a Trossard-style ”clutch” (hate that word but jumping on the bandwagon) player?

Shame that he is a lefty..

Isn't he going to get bullied by CBs if that happens though? I don't see it
Would be in a false 9 position to find pockets.
Would suit him imo, I don’t think he has the acceleration speed for 1v1s our wide or the ”presence” (what ever that is) at the moment to start as an 8.

Don’t think we have the right profiles wide for the false 9 without physicality to work though.

That said he towers Alvarez with his 176 cm to Julians 170

A lot of key players will be absent during pre-season and possibly the start of the season, so Nwaneri can grab it by the scruff of the neck. Similarly how Saliba did it.

Arteta clearly rates him even though it's not that obvious, otherwise he wouldn't be handing him a debut at 15 and involve him in first team at 17 etc. Even this loan was meant to develop him further.

With Ødegaard and Eze not being ready for preseason and probably won't be back until after the season has already started Ethan should get ample opportunities to showcase that he deserves to be in the team and compete for minutes.

If Arteta (and us) don't see that fight in him, then I think that will be it. Can't have someone with the mentality like Nelson in this squad.

Does Kroupi? It’s not as if he’d be a back to goal striker. More a striker who drops in occasionally but focuses on getting in behind. He’s such a good finisher I think he could develop well as a CF.

Kroupi is a SS, not a true CF. He plays off of Evanilson who is Bournemouth's #9.

This is an excellent opportunity for Ethan to show Mikel exactly what he's about.

EDIT: It's also why I think the club would be mad to sell Ethan, he's got a unique opportunity to play some big minutes in pre-season + early on in the season proper. He's far too talented to not give another proper go.

I still don't understand the signing of Madueke when we already had a top talent like Nwaneri in the squad. Although, it seems there was more going on behind the scenes. I just hope Ethan still gets a chance at Arsenal.
Every manager in the world would choose Madueke over him. Ethan still has a while until he’s ready for the top, he’s still young.

Arsenal Quotes

This is a big moment of happiness...we waited a long time for this and the happiness is linked sometimes with the suffering, and the time that you have to wait....this was more important than all the other (trophies) we have twice won the double, but were not under pressure then like we were today.
