Ethan Nwaneri (Out)

I don’t agree. The decision to only view Nwaneri as an 8/10 would be enough of a problem for him to want to leave. We should be open to him playing RW too. Viewing him just as an 8/10 and signing Madueke completely ****s his game time even if we don’t sign eze. What is this stupid ****ing manager and stupid ****ing club doing right now.

Yousif is a club shill at this point. Anyone backing the Madueke signing needs sectioned.

I kept saying this but Ethan's path to minutes in the first team is most likely as Saka's back up at RW. He can easily provide decent cover there to a high level - imo he was better than Martinelli on the RW.

The 8/10 cover was always going to be tricky for minutes as Ødegaard plays basically every minute of most games. The Madueke signing is so, so ****ing dumb as it curtails Ethan's minutes, and is a huge waste of $$$ on a spot we don't need.

Don't really see what the club are supposed to do here. I'm sure they want to keep him and I seriously doubt they'd be offering him a contract that's not in line with what MLS got, so I don't think it's a money issue. What more can they do? If these playing time reports are true then he will move to a club in Europe like Dortmund/Leipzig or be fooled into moving somewhere like Chelsea.
What the club can do is ensure he plays more minutes and is not kept on the bench whilst the likes of Raheem Sterling get onto the pitch. After his stunning breakthrough, the treatment this boy received in the last third of the season was appalling.

Arteta could’ve played him more last season. Guy was not even coming on in dead games.

If Madueke in, Nwaneri out, thats really dumb, why pay more money for an older at 23, less talented back up RW when you have an inhouse talent that shows at 18 he can potentially elite at AM or RW? Even worse if buying that back up RW means buying less talented but less pricy CF and LW, which seems to be happening with Gyok and Eze. Dumb and dumber if these happens.

As well how many games did he even play in midfield last season? Southampton on the final day is the one that springs to mind but not many.

Came in on the wing, for our best attacker on top of that, and did a fantastic job. What more could he do? But no no let's waste a space on another Chelsea can't wait to get rid of.

I don’t want Madueke but I do see the need for a very direct winger. Ethan can fill in but he’s not really the profile you need on the wings.

Madueke won't replace Saka, also not an LW while Nwaneri has shown to be good enough at RW, not ideal but good enough for the team to adjust for Nwaneri at RW without getting much worse, there are also GabiM and Vieira, so why spend 50 M on Madueke? Unless Arteta somehow fancy he can make Madueke to Raphinha Jr at LW thats the only way Madueke makes sense.

Agent talk or not, I'd be extremely pissed if we were signing Madueke if i was Nwaneri. He simply should've been made Saka's backup and go big for a LW.
I don't for one second believe we will signing Eze, Rodrygo and Madueke at the same time! Not happening!

Leaving Arteta's inability to rotate Nwaneri in first 11 aside, Nwaneri camp have always been a pain in the backside during renewals. This is not the first time and won't be the last. I really hope he don't mess up his career by deciding to goto some circus club like Chelsea.
