As ****ty the EL has left us feel for the last years, without this Super League bullshit coming up, having won this maybe now would have felt so big, getting that CL qualification at the last minute .. there's no equal to this feeling and joy for us left to have, not even if we were to win that fake Superleague

It could fail miserably still. Big clubs tried it here in Brazil and got nothing to show for it.

Not the same backdrop, but it had to do with breaking away from Globo having a monopoly over TV rights and how the TV money was getting split.

No real fallout tho, which is almost a guarantee in our particular case.

It is going to fail. Those clowns didn't read the room. It is the worst timing ever and the reactions from fans, leagues, UEFA and other instances has been loud and swift. These jackasses managed to unite everyone against them. The fact that the Bayern, PSG, BVB are not joining either is a big blow to the project.

On that note, I hope we'll all take a moment to remember and cherish our 2017 Community Shield win. It might be the last time for a while that we win a trophy with fans in the stadium and at home supporting the club they love.

Fixed!

I read something quickly about the UK gov't being able to issue Compulsory Sale Orders if certain types of institutions/entities are at risk but I have no idea if that could actually be on the table for something like this.

The Government can **** them up in a few ways tbh. Especially with youngsters considering grassroots football is mostly funded by public money over here.

They gave taxpayer loans to Sp*rs a few months ago ffs.

Our fans need to be really careful. It’s all well if these other teams want to protest. Do you want to be mid table team never playing top teams again and not have top players?
We're 3 games away from CL football, signed a highly rated player last summer from a CL team top of their league this year and have some of the country's top young talent. We can get to, if not the top top, a position where we challenge regularly without selling our soul.

It depends, if PSG joins it's a real coup and nails the CL as dead. From there I could see FIFA folding as well, while UEFA postures, but eventually fails.

Money talks and if they line the right pockets....

How does that work considering the bulk of international players aren’t in the ESL?

If they can’t get contracts in the ESL they might not be able to play with their players. So that leaves you with a few superstars and a bunch of semi pro scabs.
Not sure but it seems likely they’ll manage to conjure something up no?

Money seems able to buy anything these days. Is the plan to make Fifa/uefa obsolete?

They can... governments can initiate and order the closure of any business or entity within their jurisdictions. Further they can ban or block the principals associated with these organizations from doing business in their country. Reciprocal treaties will effectively make this a regional ban if enough countries have a like minded view and are against it.

A lifelong dream has been to relocate to London for a few years at some point and get season tickets and attend every match. Defo not doing that with the Los Angeles Arsenal at SoFi Stadium. Shame.

Mate get yourself down to the Kiyan Prince stadium. There’s a strip club round the corner and a bunch of pubs and clubs and they play ska after every goal.

Imagine Stan will stick us on one of the sourthern states because we're The Arsenal, the Gunners.

Would be very funny if this does fold though, especially if it folds quickly.

They need to kill FIFA and UEFA otherwise they won’t make it. The World Cup, Euros and Copa America’s are huge to casual fans in those regions.

People who wouldn’t watch a game of PL football will go full obsessive for four weeks. If those are still going on in opposition then the ESL has an uphill battle.

They’re already going to have problems with the talent pipelines if the Governments ban them from academies with anti-trafficking laws. If they don’t win Bayern and PSG over this thing will fail because they’ll be a rival for hoovering up talent on huge wages.
