Think we're starting to see the light now, it's crazy how we never really thought of why Stan bought Arsenal. I'd of never of thought a business man bought a business to make money in a million years but it's clear as day Arsenal joining the ESL is another way for a man who wants to make money make a huge huge sum.

It all makes TOTAL SENSE now.

""Chelsea and Manchester City are wavering about joining the European Super League, according to a well-placed executive at another club approached to join the breakaway league.""

My brother's step-mom's nephew

Same amount of credibility.

Of course teams will want to join, insane money involved for covid crippled teams. At and the end of the day it is the bigger teams who have suffered the most during covid. Bigger club = bigger revenue but also bigger running costs, no revenue, no ticket sales = further to fall and easier to get into trouble. Smaller teams, not so much.
You have to ask yourself why is it that we are crippled due to covid and Everton isn't?

Because of our megasalaries? Our best players right now have the lowest salaries, let that sink in

Why is it unfair? Why aren't the best teams in the world allowed to compete against each other? Or would you prefer each team to just play in their own league and play happy families because the small clubs said so.

Piss off
So Leicester against all the odds can, out of nowhere, win a title against all these so called elite teams and then be told, "unlucky son your just a small club". Pure snobbery.

They won the title out the blue with 81 bloody points, that was a once in a blue moon season. The fact is Leicester City will never sustain title challenges. We aren't talking one off instances here.

Seriously... The same board who mismanaged us into this financial mess, crippled by covid they say, is going to manage us in this Esl? Who says we won't be in financial ruins there in the future if these muppets are in charge?

Bullshit

City in particular are probably looking at this and seeing it as a great chance to look the good guys and make United and Liverpool (and Arsenal and Sp**s) look the real bad guys in English football.

Hope we win the Europa League, then on the first episode of the ESL next season, chuck it in the bin...good for the ratings!

And Stan comes out to cut a promo, ending it with "When you're with the ESL, you're with the ESL..."

The fact is they won a title though, it happened, one off or not. Your solution is to turn round and tell them because they're not an "elite club" they don't deserve to test themselves the following season against the rest of Europe. The same can be said for any other so called "small club" who has qualified for the CL through their league placing the last 20 odd years.

If this proposal falls on its face, and the ramifications forced Kronke to sell.. I'd take it tbh.

Well, it depending on what the ramifications were.

Because with time it will run on the same financial systems that make the american system work so you can't really **** up that much. Caps will be introduced, club money will be managed among the league and so on. The worst thing they have to do is manage the said caps.

Money will flow regardless unless the infrastructure fails.

No, the point is if Leicester won the premier league whilst the super league was around they'd probably be one of the 5 teams playing in the competition the season after. They'd always get rewarded for winning the premier league.

So they can then play the SL the following year, perhaps finish above 2 or 3 of the 12 teams, but because they're not a founding member get chucked out of it again. Sounds really fair that.
