I will never understand why some owners/boards do this, David Murray did similar with Rangers too and are still feeling the effects of it.

I do think that is one thing we've always done well. It was a leap to build the stadium, and we suffered sportingwise, but you never felt that the club was run like a casino.

I mean, if the newly promoted clubs are this terrible relative to the rest of the PL, doesn’t that actually mean that the league is massively *stronger* than 20 years ago when a tiny team like Ipswich could get promoted and immediately finish 5th and qualify for Europe?

As for this, my first reaction is the same ‘WHAT ABOUT CITY’ as everyone else. But if the PL was planning on protecting City, the easiest thing to would have been to go to easy on Everton and make that go away too. Instead they’ve set a bar and an expectation that these things would be punished.

But I also hope the compensation claims get thrown out. Hate that crap. It’s so American man.

There is no objective way to decide on cases like this. There is no way you can take a Time Machine back and see if Everton would have played out of their skins due to perceived injustice and still escaped relegation anyway. It’s all ifs and buts and maybes, and it would set an absolutely awful precedent. We’d end up with lawsuits flying all over the place before you know it. Only people who benefit from that are the parasitic law firms.

And I think we can all agree that lawyers can goto hell.

If Chelsea, and especially City, are let off with a slap on the wrist, Everton should claim, and deserver, compensation from the PL.

The situation now is as Everton only cheated a little they get punished. But as City cheated a lot, the legal investigation is taking a long time and they can continue to benefit from their wrong doings.

Why can't the legal investigation focus on one of the 115 infractions and punish City for it now?
