So we have some ex-Gunners from the 07/08 era who are playing in the EPL. This is a topic to discuss and laugh over them. 1726700412369.png

Alexander Hleb
William Gallas
Emmanuel Adebayor
Kolo Touré
Patrick Vieira
Sol Campbell

And of course we have some other Ex-Gunners like Eduardo, Silvestre, Flamnini etc in other leagues.

Alexander Hleb admits he still regrets leaving Arsenal after finally returning to the Premier League following his ill-fated Spanish move.

Belarus midfielder Hleb, 29, became a big favourite under Arsène Wenger after arriving in June 2005 from Stuttgart.

But the star opted to quit the Gunners in 2008 to sign for Barcelona where he flopped.

Hleb was farmed out to German club Stuttgart last season and has now arrived at Birmingham on another loan.

Hleb admitted: “Of course it is my fault I left Arsenal but this has happened.

“Not a lot of players say no to Barcelona but if I had known before what would happen of course I wouldn’t have gone.

“I won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009 but I didn’t play a lot. I lost a bit of my form and confidence.”

Hleb, in City’s squad to face Liverpool tomorrow, remains in touch with Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, who is now himself a target for Barcelona.

He added: “Cesc plays fantastically at Arsenal and is a leader and an important player.

“It is his decision if he wants to stay or leave.”

Hleb snubbed Sp**s and Liverpool to move to St Andrews from Barca and added: “I made a decision to come to Birmingham.

“I decided for one year to come back to the Premier League where I am very happy and want to take this chance.”

It will be interesting to see how Hleb wil fare at Birmingham. How a quality player like him could end up at a **** club like that.

I wonder whether Wenger uses the failures of some of these schmuks in contract negotiations with our players?

I wonder how many pre-pre-assists Hleb will get at Birmingham. He was great at pre-pre-assists with us. He would pass it to Flamini, two yards away, with immaculate precision - an absolute joy to behold. Flamini would then find Cesc, who would play a simple 45-yard lofted through-ball between the centre-backs and the keeper, straight to one of our forwards and it'd be a goal. Without Hleb, those types of goals simply wouldn't have happened.
