Yep, they had to remove the pins afterwards in a new operation because they were irritating him.

The Isaac Hayden stuff from a while back is genuinely shocking to see
(for those who haven't seen):

Is it naive to think that a club with the resources that Arsenal have should be doing better than this?
are footballers patched up on the NHS or do clubs use private doctors? I'm guessing Santi needed more specialist help than would be available within the club's own medical set-up, and probably the best treatment would be within the NHS

Never forget when I was in a pub outside the Emirates and a range rover pulled up, out popped Sagnas missus who bolts into the loo.

She must have been feckin desperate!!!

Back in my running days I've stopped for girls to run in to find bathrooms, to pee behind bushes, even to just get out and squat to pee on the side of the road. Should have carried a bedpan under the seat.

Im only 25 mate so how would I have heard of him if he only played for barely 2 years with us back in late 90's, I only started following us truly early this century hahaha.

I’m 26 mate!

Don’t you remember the game of the century when Fulham overcame a red hot Jon Stead and Blackburn 4-3 with Boa Morte going the length of the pitch to score before crawling like a dog in celebration?

Hairs on the back of the neck stuff.

The club has access to the best medical specialists around the world, which makes his treatment all the more puzzling. Shades of Rosicky's injury in 2008, where the club thought it was a two week muscle injury that ended up being a 19 month layoff.

That was a disgusting amount of time rosicky spent on the sidelines that coincided with the Eduardo injury as well. Throw in Diaby to the mix and you would think we were jinxed around that time.

Oh dear, that doesn't reflect well on him or us.
Been waiting for more details to emege on what went wrong after first reading the news in the Guardian, but not much seems to have come out since the story first broke. This article sheds a bit more light on events leading up to Hinds going AWOL and the subsequent contract termination:

The writer's a little more sympathetic towards Hinds than he deserves IMO but raises a couple of good points about what (if any) kind of monitoring is done or support offered to promising young players in a similar position i.e. far from home with few/no close family/friends, experiencing a different culture and language.
