I don’t get this comment. He was a perfect gentleman, reliable squad player and never gave a hint of controversy (ok maybe. a Palestine comment was controversial). Was every Arsenal fans darling globally. I thought he was very poor on the pitch personally.

I looked it up online to see which players most recently retired at Arsenal. The last one to retire here was Petr Čech in 2017. Before him it was Arteta in 2016. And before that Bergkamp in 2006. Let's also add Tony Adams in 2002, who spent his entire career at the club.
