Jenkinson has retired

The truth is, he should never have ended up playing for Arsenal. He was never at that level, not even really Premier League level. Still, he’s a fan who got to live his dream. I remember when Arsenal and City played a friendly in Helsinki and the entire Olympic Stadium gave Jenkinson a standing ovation after the match.

Ramsdale only getting minutes for Southampton’s U-21 side now as he’s third choice.

Insane fall off in just four years. Thank God we signed Raya.

Was just about to post this. His downfall actually needs to be studied, it's insane.

It's a funny coincidence that this is happening in Southampton, a venue where his sheer incompetence was at full display as he was focusing more on a pigeon than the ball in play.

And then he joined them and helped them get relegated.

But what really sealed his incredible arrogance and sheer ignorance was the clip on a video interview he did with Wrighty. Ian's reaction was very telling of his dissapointment.

Completely agree.
It no as much his ability as a keeper that’s caused his downfall, we’ve seen far lesser keepers continue to get chances at PL clubs. It was his inability to think before he spoke in interviews - a PL keeper admitting he can’t focus for 90mins, or he struggled to handle the pressure of the title challenge etc.
No coincidence the first transfer window after that interview he was sold.
Also feel like his own dad did him no favours.

It's always fun to see ex-Hale End guys reach the EPL (like Dan Ballard last year until he scored on us) so it's worth a mention that Brooke Norton-Cuffy has signed with Hull.

Also Chuba Akpom just scored his first EPL goal with Ipswich 12 seasons after his last appearance in the league with us, at age 30. Nice story.

Looks like unless a last minute deal comes in from Turkey before their window shuts he’ll be staying there.

His decline has been crazy to witness, only 4 years ago people thought he would become the new Seaman - a future Arsenal legend and England number one for atleast the next decade, now the guy needs an injury crisis at Southampton to get on the bench in the championship.

He might be able to force his way back in if things go bad because he’s clearly better than their other two options.

Now the window is shut they’re stuck with his salary anyway.

Either way as you say it’s nuts it’s even come to this.
