I was just about to post the same. If a signing like this doesn't affect a potential Vini deal in anyway, then who gives a feck how much he would cost.

The idea behind the signing is to try and mitigate the risk of losing Saliba through injury. Yeah, we might get better value on the continent,.but that comes with it's own risks.

I can't find myself getting upset over this when we've just signed Bruno and trying are hardest to get Vini.

This has probably been mentioned before but I watched the Saka and Henry documentary on Disney plus a month or so back and Konsa is one of Bukayo's closest childhood mates. Perhaps Saka might have something to do with this.

I'm not against him, I just think that we don't need him.

Just start the season with Mosquera / Gabriel pairing. All of White, Timber, Hincapié and Calafiori can play CB too. This would be a true luxury signing.

For all we know Saliba could be back within 2 months.

With MLS moving into midfield we want a total of 8 defenders. Right now we have 7.
If we don't sign Konsa it will be some other defender.

He’s not bad. He’s a solid PL defender. But for what he would cost and his age it’s really not worth it for us to pay what Villa would want as he’s a key player for them

After Bruno he would be another player with no real sell on value and the squad is full of 27-29 year olds

Defense is quite young though. Saliba, Calafiori, Timber, Hincapie and Mosquera all 25 or under.

Yes Konsa looked shaky in matches at the WC however Konsa was one of the best performing CBs in league the past couple seasons.

Adding Konsa would be another PL proven very good cb to our stacked defence.

Our back up defence of Hincapie, Mosquera, Konsa and White is better than the majority of the PL teams starting back 4. Better than the likes pool, Chelsea and Utd etc.

Except at RB he will be dead end in attack and coming up against someone like psg with your rb being dead end in attack will just make it easier for them to contain us

He needs to move away from this 4 CBs safety first nonsense now he has his title

How good is he as a right back? I got the impression he's not great offensively

I think the dislike of the signing is more to do with the fact he probably won't start when Saliba is fit

If we sign Konsa, isn't it more likely to be a sign Saliba is crocked long term? Timber plays as RB. From what I know of Konsa is he's good defensively as a RB but not great going forwards. Perhaps I'm wrong though
