If we sign Konsa, isn't it more likely to be a sign Saliba is crocked long term? Timber plays as RB. From what I know of Konsa is he's good defensively as a RB but not great going forwards. Perhaps I'm wrong though
Timber been out for a year and been sent home from pre season. That’s a bad sign

Gunner come out of the closet any day now…
Look at it from the positive, if we sign him you can become a closet Arsenal fan like @Dokaka did when we signed Rice

This sneaky dig at me somehow makes me sound better considering I started following Arsenal more closely when Bendtner was here.

If Arsenal pull off both Vini and Bruno in quick succession I wouldn't give a damn if they signed Konsa even if he only had one leg to stand on.

I remember being interested in him a bit when he was at Charlton, obviously never got the impression he was a top tier CB so I’d say good PL CB was about his ceiling and he’s fulfilled that.

From a sporting perspective I don’t mind it but to spend the money required is just a bit City-ish in terms of indulgence. Don’t love it.

With the injury situations around Saliba, Timber and White, it’s really not surprising the club is prioritizing an experienced PL proven player. It’s actually a big priority for the start of the season. Konza makes sense, but the price quoted by Villa is obviously too high. We’ll see if they can get something done for a more reasonable fee.

Signing Vincius and Konsa in the one window feel so weird. It would be like buying the most expensive car while you pull your house with it.

I assume the rationale for Konsa is proven EPL quality, that can play CB and cover RB at some level. Need someone who is willing to be behind Saliba, but still good enough level.

This only makes sense if Villa accepts low enough offer due to his age and 2 years in contract. 50-60 million pounds is too much. But I assume Villa will refer to Van Hecke's 50 million fee with 1 year left in contract.

So it's tough to see how this happens, unless Villa still has to sell for regulations like Newcastle did. But they have UCL so I doubt it.

Buying an older player for cheaper now likely also relates to the pathway for Salmon, which is very important.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
