But for both Bruno G and Konsa, it's their last chance for big trophies. Both have been great servants for their clubs. So they might be rewarded with the move similarly for an okay price, rather than sulking the next season and value dropping along with the performances.

50 million pounds is not cheap for a soon 29 year old CB, far from it. I think Lacroix is currently the most comparable transfer, he is 2,5 years younger and cost 52 million pounds. 60 million is too much, and Arsenal don't often pay the asking price.

If they do not allow the player to go, they take big risks in his performances and mentality dropping from blocking a move that would have given the club a good fee. This is likely Konsa's only chance to join a title challenging team, because Arsenal will get someone else if not Konsa now.

Perhaps, but that's also why you don't have certain players in your team.

And fwiw Lacroix is a laughable comparison I'd argue. He probably has a couple of international caps, no CL experience and less than two seasons in the PL. Meanwhile Konsa has, well, more. of everything. It's like comparing Adam Wharton to Declan Rice.

Secondly, I think most will say Liverpool is a title challenging team, and he could very well end up there.

Konza makes alot of sense (just not at the quoted price). Saliba is out for months. Timber is still injured. White can’t be counted on. We have one young player (Mosquera) to cover 2 positions. We don’t need a world class addition (fit Saliba and Timber are it). What we need is a starting quality (but below elite) PL proven (plug and play/no break in period) player, that will start for a few months and then become a rotation option.

This is unglamourous but super important. An early season slip up could well lead to losing the title.

We will be missing our CB partnership until December. Mosquera is good but to just throw him in the deep end like this is a gamble. We are going for the PL title not getting top4.

As un glamorous as this is, it actually is required if you want to maximise your chances of winning the league.

Just need to make sure the attacking signing is killer, no average ****ers there anymore.

Liverpool just loaned Araujo. So it's either because Villa demands silly money, or Arsenal has convinced Konsa to join only them, like often happens with Arsenal.
