Konsa massively underrated from what I'm reading here

Don't get me wrong, he's nowhere near Saliba's level, but he's a premier league proven level defender and has played across multiple seasons at RB and CB, both Timber and White cannot be trusted to play enough football at RB, and Mosquera is clearly the future, but he's proven he needs more time to develop into his potential

£60m is way too much, but demonstrates his importance to villa, if we can agree a fee under £50m I think this is a reasonable price in the current market, there aren't many options out there and if all we get is a solid 5 months out of him at CB, and then he's cover that for me is good enough

If we take a punt on a less proven RB with potential still we'll feel that hit us in the early part of the season, and my concern is that by the time Saliba is back we're already out of the title race, because that's how important Saliba is, trusting Mosquera or Salmon to fill that gap is a disaster waiting to happen

You also can't underestimate the risk we currently have with Gabriel, the way he plays, and the burden he'll be carrying in Saliba's absence could mean he is overplayed, and god forbid he picks up an injury our whole season would fall apart, this takes the pressure off him if we bring in experience, and also I think the partnership between Gabriel and Saliba is because of Saliba's calmness, and Konsa oozes that too, I wouldn't like to partner Gabriel with someone who wasn't as calm and experienced
