Gary Neville saying this is the worst Utd side ever

League is very weak
surely we're forced to do some January business now..
Don’t think think that’s a good scenario, where you’re “forced” into doing business in a window where quality is limited and prices are increased. Especially when this regime couldn’t sign a player to save their lives.

I’m worried.

AMs disrespect of united's turkish keeper in this thread before the game was always going to backfire

But again we created nothing prior to the red card.

We created for the last 30 mins of normal time, but again in extra time, united were comfortable. It wasnt a penalty either, so deserved O missed it.

To predictable in our all around game. So many times we could have put them on the back foot, but we slow it down and let them set up. To predictable. The league and the supporters can all see we will slow the game down and control the tempo with passing. But it allows teams set up and just sit back, soak up the passing around the box, knowing we only have Saka hungry enough to make a difference. Even when Saka is fit, he has 2 players defending him. Where is everyone else? I’ll tell you. Two seasons ago those players were allowed to express themselves individually on the pitch. Jesus was a menace, martinelli was running at players and was clinical, trossard made something out of nothing, and Ødegaard orchestrated it all. But this season, we haven’t progressed or adapted to other teams tactics. We know they’re going to sit back on us and we let them. Show some urgency, think outside the box. But we play in all aspects of Arteta’s tactics. Which is good because it gives us shape, but what bothers me about our team is it seems they all forgot how to think as an individual player, that makes decisions and shows courage to make things happen. It feels it’s all been coached out of them. One exception is Saka, he’s progressed each season and is becoming elite. Everyone else in attack looks lost.

Contrast the way we played in the 22-23 season to how we play now. Arteta wanted more control and less risk after 22-23 but its been way over corrected and i am not sure he can pull it back. He must be aware he needs to pull it back but its not evident if he can and it seems haram ball is gaining more momentum.

Not enough, we only spent like 70m? And we recouped some, if not all of the money back?

We needed to invest in attack this summer, and we failed. The question I have is... why?
Back in a "secure" top 4 position after a couple of seasons back in. Top 4 is important for revenue. The investment required to really chase a big trophy probably doesnt match the revenue generated.

Arteta second highest paid manager in world football as i understand now; expect him to take on a wenger type role now where he is the screen to the owner's lack of investment in chasing winning.

27 shots and 1 goal. Fact of the matter is, if we had a good striker we would of scored 4 more goals today and everyone would be saying what a great performance. Havertz missed at least two absolute sitters today that my 2 year old could of scored. Same against Newcastle, a decent striker and would would of spanked both of those teams.

I don't understand that argument.

The players aren't good enough so you're not allowed to buy more?

If that's the case then just fire him, sell some muppets, start again. But don't keep the manager but not allow him to buy players. That just guarantees mediocrity for years.
You've completely missed my point which is that all the players on the pitch today were kept or purchased by him. How on earth can he keep a straight face and ask Josh for even more money when only 6/24 players he's signed are attackers and none of them top players? Lol at him not being allowed to buy players. The irony. As Farzad says, he can't rate his own players and doesn't realise his mistake until he's 70m in the hole. How on earth anyone thought Havertz was a player to lead the line for any club with aspirations of a PL title is beyond me. Loving his players won't make them better at tap ins either. He's out of excuses.

Totally agree, but you said he shouldn't be allowed to buy more players. What's the point of that? Guarantees failure.

If you think he's not good enough then advocate for him to be fired, I respect that.

They need to bin him in the summer. If I was Kroenke I would take responsibility of signing of him.
I would tell Jason Ayto you are responsible for the signings and 100% fall on your head. But they have to make signings

Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.
