We should not, should never lose to Portsmouth, right?
I’m sure the entire footballing world said that about Crystal Palace yesterday or more relevantly when Wrexham beat then-champions Arsenal in 1992 or even when Wimbledon beat all conquering Liverpool in the 1988 final.
Arsenal are obviously monumental favourites, but to use the word “never” is to disregard the very nature of football, especially for a team only one division below.
I disagree. I doubt it will damage morale to lose a meaningless game with our backups playing. Morale only gets hurt when our best 11 lose.
move on
The use of the word should in front of never makes it appropriate. It’s not saying that it’s impossible or can’t happen but rather than it ought to never happen.
If your B team cant win against a team that plays a division below and stand at the bottom, then they are not good enough to sit on the bench for us.I’m sure the entire footballing world said that about Crystal Palace yesterday or more relevantly when Wrexham beat then-champions Arsenal in 1992 or even when Wimbledon beat all conquering Liverpool in the 1988 final.

While what you say is 100% true but if our team enter this game with already won the game mentality because Portsmouth are not good enough that will backfire easily you have to preform like every other game because Portsmouth won't make it easy this is thier biggest game of season Arsenal dont visit Portsmouth often or any big English clubIf your B team cant win against a team that plays a division below and stand at the bottom, then they are not good enough to sit on the bench for us.
Meaningless game? This is our cup not the league cup.
If it was meaningful, we would start our starters. My definition of meaningful is different than yours. Its fine.Meaningless game? This is our cup not the league cup.
Imo I would like to see more smart decision making not running into opposition box 10 times and can make final pass.Another painful scrape over the line in this one, 2-1.
The domestic cups depend on how many players you have available at the moment we got lot available to attack these cups its just handful of games and you reach final and if you got handed easy draw then that even better its still trophy to addIf it was meaningful, we would start our starters. FA cup doesn't mean anything to me this year. If we win the FA cup and lose the prem and ucl, based on where we are so far, the season is a total failure for me
