When they sacked Lampard Chelsea were 9th (only 2 points ahead of us lol), 5 points off 4th and had 2 wins in their last 9 PL games. Now they're 5th, 1 point off 4th with a game in hand and 2 points off 3rd. Only 1 loss in their last 12 PL games with 7 wins. In a CL semi final and a FA Cup final.

Some people always question why Chelsea are "quick" to sack managers, but they've literally proven time and time again that it gets them results. Sacking Sarri for Lampard was probably they only wrong call they've made.

Sarri wasn't sacked, Juve paid them so he could leave.

Pep's genius is solely down to spending loads of money, plus always managing the best teams.

As soon as he starts trying to think about winning a match himself (as opposed to just letting his talented players beat worse teams) he always bottles it...man's a terible manager, Arteta's gonna be a disaster trying to follow in his footsteps
Agreed. If you need super specific and extremely expensive players for your "system" to work, then what exactly are you all about? A lot of managers (obviously not all) in world football could be successful if they signed exactly who they wanted.

I wasn't really comparing him to Arteta, just highlighting that the strategy of habitually sacking managers has proven to be immensely successful for Chelsea. People often cite them as a insult when it comes to sacking managers, "do you want us to be like Chelsea?" when in actuality it'd be brilliant as a fan.

The important thing is they spent the money not on what Lampard wanted, but on what they felt could improve the club and aligned with their own objectives (resale value, different options in attack). Sadly it didn't work for Lampard, a manager that had Chelsea playing even better football at his best moments, and when he was replaced with Tuchel things worked out nicely very quickly

We're willing to fill our squad with Cedrics to please Arteta, who hasn't shown in results, performance, eye test or even words he should deserve building his own squad from scratch, and as a result we might be crippling ourselves in the long term. In fact, all that talk about Willian and Auba suggests we already did in some ways. But we want more for some reason.

Hate that a lot of people on social media are trying to re-write Sterling's talent, guy is class but just having a poor spell. He's actually very likable.
