I'm personally very intrigued, for all my criticism about Mikel I don't think he likes/backs bad players.

Those off ball numbers make it quite clear why management wanted him in.

I think he'll be vital when it comes to breaking down very defensive setups. Not difficult to imagine him in Xhaka's position when the opposition is mainly sitting in a low block.

Interesting player for sure, excited to see him actually play.

He looks to be extremely press resistant, with a top class final ball/technique. Obvioulsy there will be an adaptation period, but think we have a gem here. The talent coming out of Portugal is insane.

Looking forward to seeing him this season. I'm sure he will be on the fringes of the first team.

He will be a starter in the EL and cup competitions, with some cameos in the PL. Whether or not he becomes more of a regular in the first team we will need to see. It goes either way in these scenarios, sometimes players come in and instantly impress while others take a bit of time.

This has got me excited. I just don't know whether Arteta will ever use him and Ødegaard in the same midfield.

Let's also not forget ESR - Fabio V should free him up to do what he does best.
