I barely even knew this was happening.

Where did Saka finish? Assuming he was the highest ranked Arsenal player?

I get that City are **** and Rodri is a cnt but not sure why people are so mad about it. It’s hardly the most egregious balon d’or winner. He IS the best midfielder in the world, that’s not even up for debate really.
Not egregious, just boring imo. Him beating out Vinicius is kinda like Canavaro beating Henry in 2006 (i know Henry came third but still). Just kinda lame.

Sums up the state of the game in 2024 really

Feel for Carvajal, the guy finished 4th as a FB and probably wanted to attend the event, but couldn't because the Brazilian diva threw his toys of out of the pram.

Dani Olmo finishing 13th for scoring a couple of goals at the Euros is hilarious though

Ederson or Yann Sommer. Yann Sommer conceded only 22 goals last season and Inter won the title. Also kept 19 clean sheet

But I guess these awards more focused on national team success
Ederson is a brilliant keeper, but last season was one of his poorest of his career. Giving him the award after that season would have been a joke to be honest

Real talk I dunno why Martinez won the keeper one myself. I’m not saying Raya should have won it or anything.

I guess it wasn’t a strong season for that category.
Best keeper in the premier league last season, key part of Villa getting champions league, and won his third international trophy in a row.

I don't know enough about European football to say he should have won the award, but it's surely not that surprising given what he's achieved?

Real Madrid not going just because Vini didn't win is one of the most pathetic things I've ever heard. Absolutely embarrassing behaviour

Not surprising, but he's had better personal seasons in my opinion. Made a few errors last season as well.

That said, I couldn't think of anyone else so fair play.

Performance wise he hasn't had a better season than last season. From someone who watches him every week, believe me, last season was comfortably his best season for Villa
