This kid is the real deal. Going to be a top player. Will cost a shot load of money to get him though, specially after the Martial deal. Mbappe is, imo, is already more talented.
There's not a lot around at the top level that's affordable, so it will be nice to see an exciting youngster that shows real talent. It's been too long since Anelka, Henry and co.

Monaco had a set back last night tying 1-1 at Bastia.
OM just beat Stade Rennais 2-0 with a superb goal from Thauvin (great backheel of Samson).

It's weird with Bielsa, Lille don't really look like they have a promising squad.

On another note, Plea is out for the rest of the season, which means Nice and Favre are going to have to rely even more on Balotelli...

They do have a couple of good players, Corchia is a top RB and French international, Benzia and Lopes are good and some of the new signings (Junior Alonso, El Ghazy and Xeka) are promising. No doubt more players will arrive this Summer.

Balotelli is almost a lost case. The guy got a great opportunity to reset his flailing career and he is screwing it again.

Forgot to mention, there was this chain smoking Frenchman who filled in from time to time for the futsal team I used to play for.

We were discussing Kante and of course, being a football loving Frenchman, he gave us an interesting. As it turned out, he was somewhat familiar with Kante, or at least aware of the the trajectory of his development. He basically said that if somebody had told him back then that Kante would go on to drive Leicester City to the EPL title, he would have laughed in their faces. He said that there were always better players around Kante and that he was rejected by every time team he went on a trial with.

Furthermore, as is probably well known, many people thought he was too small to play the role he currently plays.

I suppose Kante knew the things he was good and kept on working on them.

It's interesting how commonly held perceptions of what a footballer should be like leads to some genuinely quality players being overlooked.

Ligue 1 is really interesting this season. OGC Nice beat Montpellier 2-1 yesterday after losing 0-1 for 75 min. Two goals from Mickael Le Bihan, who just came back after a 15 months injury.
Monaco won 2-1 at Guingamp. Fabinho scored the second goal on penalty (a Panenka!!!). Fabinho may have taken up to 15 penalties for Monaco and has not missed one. One can wonder why he did not take it vs Man City.
Tomorrow, le "Classique", OM-PSG. Paris has to win to keep up with Nice and Monaco.

Another typical Favrian win for Nice.

Funny thing is that in most games the opposition will have more shots than Nice but it'll usually be Nice who get the breakthrough. The way Favre sets the team up the shots the opposition do have are usually from less threatening distances or positions.

His teams are also very effective finishers, always make the most of the chances they do have. This was also evident at Gladbach I think.

Race for the Ligue 1 title is neck and neck right now, will be very interesting to see how things develop.

It is a very exciting race in Ligue 1. OGC Nice is really up to the races with the other two! Wilan Cyprien (8 goals, 3 assists) is having a sensational season for Nice, easily in the top 5 players in the League.
They also have the advantage of only having Ligue 1 to focus on while Monaco and PSG are in the running for four competitions.

Mbappe just scored the first goal for Monaco vs FC Nantes.
I will be shocked if he does not get a call from Deschamps for the NT
this month. Mendy deserves one as well. It is poverty at LB in France and he has been solid for Monaco.
3-0 for Monaco at half time. 2 goals from Mbappe and 1 from Germain. Such a fun team to watch. Well organized and drilled. When they go on the breaks, it is a clinic with their wingers and full back overloading a side. With Lemar/Mendy on one side and Sidibe/ Silva on the other, they have horses.
