Some good managers and interesting characters in Ligue 1 this coming season. With Ranieri, Bielsa, Gourcuff, Favre, Gourvennec, Jardim, Emery and Rudi Garcia, they have a pretty good crop.
The new St Etienne manager, the spaniard Oscar Garcia comes with a nice resume as well with two titles with Red Bull Salsburg.

AS Monaco (OGC Nice as well for that matter) may have one of the best recruiting team in the business. They know how and when to snap young talent.
They are rejuvenating the team with some great young talent. Tielemans is the best player in the Belgian league. Meite is considered one of the best young CDM and Jordi Mboula from Barca is a top prospect.

Various reports suggesting highly rated La Masia prospect Jordi Mboula has departed Barcelona and will join AS Monaco for just €3m.

Lille have spent close to 50M Euros on new players this summer.

A fair clear out is also taking place:

Will be interesting to see how things develop.

@carlito'sway You surprised more clubs aren't interested in Ricardo Pereira? It's really quite interesting because Favre favoured Souquet more than Pereira at right back when Nice were playing in a back 4. Favre tended to utilise Periera more as a right midfielder/right wing back.

Lille may not be done yet, apparently they are close to sign Thiago Maia. They are stockpiling talent. It is going to be a challenge to integrate all the parts together though but if one can do it, it is Marcelo Bielsa.

Ricardo Pereira moved back to Porto since he was only on loan with Nice. He has a 25 M release clause and, while some clubs were interested (PSG, Sp**s), Conceicao has put his veto. He wants to keep him and may get his wish.

Bielsa is quietly assembling a nice group of top young players at Lille.
They have added Thiago Maia and Caju to the already impressive list of recruits. Thiago Maia has the tools to explode at the highest level. Luis Campos, Lille Sporting Director (ex AS Monaco) is among the best in the business at making deals happen.

Sneijder and Lichtsteiner close to joining Nice.

Two very experienced players who are both 33.

Not sure how a player like Sneijder will play under Favre though.

Dalbert has downed tools, looks like he'll be moving soon.

Heard about Lichsteiner, didn't know about Sneijder. Both can really contribute. Really astute signings.
Dalbert is acting like a ****...He will be shipped out.

Ligue 1 is going to be interesting this season. Monaco, OM, OL, Lille, even Bordeaux have exciting players. Some very good managers have joined as well. Having said that, if PSG brings Neymar, they will dominate and all the others will challenge for a spot on the podium.

Just watched the first half of Lille-Rennes. 2-2 so far. Fun game!
Lots of top young talent on display: Ismaila Sarr, Luiz Araujo,
Thiago Mendes. Thiago Maia just came in to start the second half.

PS. 4-2 for Lille. Remember the name Luiz Araujo, folks. He is explosive on the wings.
Thaigo Maia is a future crack too.
