Gabriel Jesus: "Goals are not my strong point"

Yeah Jesus on the wing is calm as long as the CF we sign can also drift wide and cause those overloads too. If Felix is that guy then having him, Jesus and one of our wingers in a fluid front three would be even more dangerous than we are now.

I just think we lose what makes us so good if that CF we sign is just a lamppost (unless he’s Haaland Mk2).
Jesus isn’t as good as gabi or saka on the wing imo, he’s a better striker. I don’t think you appreciate him personally, none of the people being discussed here can do what he does.
The other thing is the xg, Jesus had xg coming out of his backside. Poor finishing meant he underperformed it by a lot, but frankly, underperforming that badly was unsustainable imo, he was bound to improve his chance taking if he kept getting a clean run.

Imo, the biggest potential criticism is if we’ve bought a crock, a few here have said he was injured all the time for city. I’m not personally aware of his injury history, but if we’ve bought an injury prone player then 45m and 260k is a poor investment. Need players like that to be robust.

Well of course you don’t

Not sure how you’ve managed to get there
For once I agree with Trills… he basically said you can move Jesus wide only if you buy a Jesus regen and stick him in the middle. Which really is peak appreciation if you think about it…

Unpopular opinion: Jesus should be a winger. We need a goalscorer at CF.

Game’s evolved.

Who were City and Liverpool’s goalscorers at CF when they scored 100+ team goals over the last few seasons?

If you can find a Haaland, Benzema or Lewa cool but the best attacking teams have the best offensive line no longer just the best number 9.

He isn’t out 3 months I guarantee all of you he won’t be the same player till next season if then. And he isn’t playing in 3 months after ligament surgery, this isn’t a scope and drain or scrape the guy tore ligaments in his knee. Qatari petrosheiks did Arsenal in the bu.t dry.

Reports are stating it was an MCL injury. MCL injuries don't take nearly as long to recover from compared to ACL injuries, as an example. They also don't carry nearly the same long term risks.

Had a mate who tore his MCL. He was back playing football 8 weeks later, without professionally rehabbing it etc. Granted he didn't need surgery for it, but the surgery doesn't add that much to the recovery and Jesus is surrounded by the best physical therapists in the world.

I know "knee ligament injury" sounds scary, but there's genuinely a world of difference between an ACL and MCL tear.

Fingers crossed its 8 weeks but the problem is its 8 weeks out and then 3 or 4 getting up to speed. It would still be 12 weeks without a 100% Jesus.

That's probably 15 league games and 2/4 EL games.

Could we trust Eddie to lead the line those 17-19 games? And keep us in the EL and top of the league or at least very close? I'm not convinced but time will tell.

Faith is what tossers rely on in the absence of evidence. When I decide to w.nk my self silly it is to porn, not to silly immaterial things like faith that have no basis in reality. Both me and brother did our knees multiple times, ligament surgery isn't three months after 46 years I know when someone is blowing sunshine up my dirty place

From what the reports said there was no rupture or tear of the MCL. Ruptures are graded in medical terms. Cant remember which way it goes, but let's say 1 being least bad, minor tear, 3 being complete rupture.

I had mine fully ruptured after getting taken out by a cab on my bike. My knee took full impact & was flexing inwards after I got up. Anyway, as I am very fit & active the surgeon recommended an intense physio programme to avoid surgery & that was around 4 to 5 months I think, during which I went beast mode on the physio.

After getting the green light from 4 physios I started playing football again & in like the 2nd or 3rd game a freak occurrence meant I snapped my ACL, lateral meniscus & re fcked my MCL (only scarring left as I'd ruptured it 1st time).

So obviously I needed a full ACL reconstruction..

I think with pro footballers are dealt with a bit more cautiously & they are a commodity at the end of the day & if doing surgery extends the footballers capacity to play long term, they will do it to protect the investment & value of the player & to avoid any worser injuries occurring further down the line.

I don't think he'll be out for a super long period of time tbh as there were no ruptures & it was a small procedure.

Problem is if Eddie gets injured a couple games in.
Which is why ideally you need 3 strikers in the squad. Just in case you do get that unlucky. Yes other players can score goals but i wouldnt call anyone in our 1st team squad a prolific goal scorer, so it's a concern. Man City played without striker yes but they are City & levels above us.
You have 3 keepers in the squad for same reason. If one gets injured, one deputises & the deputy for the deputy becomes 2nd choice. Simples.

I told you guys Arsenal should sue, this is beyond a normal insurance claim, Qatar wasted an asset that is 100 million pound replacement codt. The organizer’s insurance is already going to pay whatever compensation the insurance of the fraud induced WC is offering is not enough. The gangsters who run qatar snd Fifa owe us at least 100 million damages, time to sue all these Qatari companies involved for fraud. Qatari royal fraud is both the but for and proximate legal cause of Arsenal basically having a 100 million pound asset totally wasted. Jesus contract isnt worth sh.t now. Qatari fraud cost us they should not be unaccountable gangsters in western courts, where they hold assets we can take

I recall Cesc taking 4 months to recover from a medial ligament injury. Have to hope that GJ has Xhaka levels of recovery
