Gabriel Jesus (Out)

Riou

Sell him! £50+ million for a player who doesn't start is a fantastic sale, considering our highest sale was £35 million for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Insane really...The Emirates really broke our club didn't it 😭

At Highbury Wenger used to sign Anelka for a pack of Pokemon cards, then sell him HUGE and afford a state of the art training ground and Thierry Henry ffs!

Ox being our highest sale is a disgrace.

I’d be cool with one striker and one winger as Trossard can cover and we’re talking about both Havertz and new striker being injured which will hopefully be unlikely.

My bigger worry is that the striker market is ****.

God it’s gonna be Solanke isn’t it. @Rex Stone has already manifested his Gallagher transfer. He is. Inevitable…

Boys dream summer cooking right now.

Solanke - Gallagher to my clubs I’m on cloud 9.

Why so low? Are we desperate to sell him? We'd have to replace him adequately as he's still a key play player for us.

Any somewhat decent forward out there is going for crazy money so that won't be an easy task.
It’s all about his fitness for me. If someone told me he would recover and be available for most of the season I would say no way.

On paper they would likely be available a lot more than Jesus. Take his time at City into account and his injury record is somewhat worrying.
True. But when fully fit he's twice the player Toney is, imo. Not sure what to think of Gyokeres and his stats. Is he a late bloomer, or is he bound to come back down to earth soon?

If he plays for Arsenal, won't make it past preseason...if he plays for literally any other club, he's never getting injured again.

Gabby is worth the gamble for another year imo. No player we get with the funds we’ll get from him, even from SA, raises the overall play to the level he does.

Annoying that Sp**s might get money for that bum Richarlison though.

I can’t see it either. If the below is true then I can’t see the club changing their stance that quickly:

How? He can’t shoot or head a ball properly. He is a skilled player. But he really is not even a very good striker.

The first half of his first season here...I hate Jesus for teasing me like that 😅
Was the best all around CF on the planet in his first 6 months here imo. Yeh didn’t score loads of goals but his general play was incredible.

It’s probably why the players within the squad still see him as top5.

It would take atleast 60m+ for this to be considered by the club. I would be ok with it. He is anyway behind Havertz and did not make the step up expected of him to be the main man here. Considering his injury record of we don't do this now it will be Partey situation next year.
Jesus/Zinny/Partey might aswell move them all.

Yep, Vermaelen was top 5 CBs in the world in his first six months here.

Do you see the pattern?

No. Jesus played for Manchester City, then came here and was the springboard for our very strong season, where we were 1st place for the first half (while he was fit). It then got interrupted by an MCL knee injury.

Only thing in common here is they both had injury issues which hampered them, which is tied into my point anyway.

So megamind, what’s the pattern that’s so important here?

I’d cash in if we were offered a decent fee by Saudi. Might have to overpay for a player to come in given the lack of quality strikers/wide players on the market but he’s definitely replaceable.
