No. Jesus played for Manchester City, then came here and was the springboard for our very strong season, where we were 1st place for the first half (while he was fit). It then got interrupted by an MCL knee injury.

Only thing in common here is they both had injury issues which hampered them, which is tied into my point anyway.

So megamind, what’s the pattern that’s so important here?
My point is that fans held out for Vermalean far longer than they should have because of how transformational he was in his first season. Truthfully, its unlikely Jesus will ever reach the heights of his first season, and we should cash out. The recurrent knee injuries scare me and as a 27-turning-28, he won't have time on his side to make a full recovery.

You'd normally say take any sort of great offer considering his injury record but like even if we get 60m who do you get? Gyokeres? Solanke/Toney? Good players but there's hardly many inspiring options out there. I mean going into a season wanting to win the league/CL with Havertz/Solanke as your CFs is a bit...weak. Jesus hitting top sharpness and staying fit is certainly an IF but it has much higher upside than anyone we'd get imo. Plus he's well integrated in the squad, and Mik has indicated in the past that he's one of the guys who sets the level in training, so unless we're getting Osimhen money then meh.

Saudi offer big wages. But not transfers. I think only one player has gone to Saudi for over 50 million pounds

Unless it’s 50m we can’t afford to lose this guy man.

I’d say do a loan deal for Joao Felix regardless. We need more technicality upfront.

I can’t see it either. If the below is true then I can’t see the club changing their stance that quickly:

we need to fire anyone in the club that thinks like this.
The guy cannot play footbal. The guy cannot score a goal to save his ****ing life. One of the best number 9 in the world yet he cannot score 5 ****ing goal per year. He is the definition of a nothing player. and we pay him so ****ing much.

People are paying for this? Couple of words about Jesus and it has nothing to do with transfer interest

I still think he offer us a lot of extra things which a lot of people do not see. yes he doesnt score you 20+ goals but he bring us a lot more.

Don't see him going. Saw some pics of him this pre-season and he is looking way fitter then before...
Hope his knee isn't a problem anymore, so he can shine this year.

Would only sell Jesus if we get 50+ million pounds, but I guess nobody's paying that now...

Sell Nketiah, keep Trossard & Jesus and buy a great winger for both wings (Nico Williams or Pedro Neto)

If Saudi offer 50M you take it, they should be offering more given the Diaby fee.

Why would we accept a 50M offer for someone like Jesus? I think this guys is a wonderful player who just had one bad season. I really hope we don`t do something as silly as selling him for an amount which is 20-25% more than the valuation we value ESR. I see people saying that we should get "Diaby Money" for Jesus which in incredible considering the difference in quality and achievements between the two players.

I like him on the left but not so much as a striker. Watkins would be great replacement in my view but probably no chance Villa would sell. Toney would probably be the most realistic attainable premier league ready striker but I'd find it a bit uninspiring. I reckon Arteta will look to keep Jesus unless we can clear improvement and not seeing much in the market right now.

Yeah I said in the earlier posts that probability wise it’s quite likely Jesus won’t be able to return to his initial form. Unfortunately it’s more likely he still struggles fitness wise, which means it’s worth it to sell cash in if we get a good offer. The comment about his first 6 months here was just an observation about his first 6 months, not necessarily about what he can offer in the future. Although… if he can somehow get over the fitness issues there’s more upside than the other options out there on the market. So it’s about gambling on his fitness or playing it safe really. For me it will be about the size of the offer we get. I keep him if we are offered rubbish like 20-25m for example.

We won’t sell unless his knee is a huge red flag now.

Arteta will want to keep someone of his quality and Jesus isn’t going to Saudi with a World Cup on the horizon.

Give GJ another season at least, we've got to have depth & his pretty capable of playing all across the front line. Even behind the CF/striker if he has to.

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
