if Tammy exits Roma is there not a good chance its back to Chelsea? they have some sort of buy back & the Lukaku project feels doomed

Why would he want to go back.

From all reports he was unhappy with Tuchel and Tuchel didn't rate him.

He fell out with Tuchel so doubt it. Chelsea aren't going to be able to shift Lukaku either. We need to be in for Tammy.

its not this summer for them... Pito has spoken about the details

"There’s a buy back clause into Abraham contract but it’s not gonna be valid this summer - I’m not even worried, we’re happy with Tammy and he’s doing great.”

They've finished above us for 6 straight seasons now, think it might be time for Arsenal to wake up and smell the coffee. They're 100% on par with us now.
Okay, but there isn't some powershift like they and the media would have people believe. Even in their best period under Poch, they won nothing. Yes, it's now 6 consecutive seasons they've finished above us - two of which we bottled and handed to them - but fine, our 20 to their 6. Just another 14 to go...oh and don't forget some trophies along the way.

What have we won, a few FA cups? It's nice and all, but look at the position we are in now. Using modern grading criteria of what is a "Big club" there's nothing between Arsenal and Sp**s.

Probably advantage Sp**s in the big club discussion these days. Better arena, better coach, better facilities

I’ve got no time for nostalgia as argument for describing modern discussion on what constitutes top clubs

Football is consumed here and now and is interchangeable, but @Riou will tell me that Vieiras masterclass at anfield half a lifetime ago (ye we don’t live long in UTG family) somehow impacts how we should perceive and judge the clubs today

This is why it surprises me, that so many Sp**s fans hate Levy.

Think of were they were, when he became their chairman in 2000 (I think) he's taken them from nowhere, to be regularly competing with Arsenal.

They have no league titles since the 60s and no FA cups since 1991...they have absolutely no recent history of achieving anything.

Least our fans got disgruntled, because we were winning a ton...Sp**s are dumbly demanding this guy make them the next United, when they have absolutely no right to be even mentioned in the same breath as some of the club's they are competing with...think he has been brilliant for them.

That's why we will always be bigger though, tbh.

Sp**s ate giving it there all, in their best Prem period...while we have an owner who doesn't give a ****, with a bunch of rookies running the club.

And we are still achieving about the same level of success...them getting Champions League football and us winning trophies.

They have to be great, just to match us at our worst...levels!

The top clubs in the league are Liverpool/Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea is in turmoil due to Roman leaving and there will be changes. Manchester united/Arsenal/Sp**s are all at the same level these days. Players know that these clubs may or may not make it to Champions league next season. There is no special advantage Sp**s has over us

Also the best thing for Sp**s is Harry Kane. In Today's football, it is impossible to find a striker of that quality anywhere. They are extremely rare. And here Sp**s found one from their academy. Take him away and they will have spent a lot of money in the last few years buying new strikers. Today in football, there are so many wide attackers. But a central striker who scores and creates and extremely rare. So rare that even Barcelona has to buy two 30+ attackers

We will get him, money will talk. At Sp**s, he has no place as Son and Kane are better. At Arsenal he will earn more and will get a starting spot at CF.

Starting 3
Martinelli--Jesus--Saka

Back-up
ESR--DCL--Pepe

If Pepe leaves, we need to bring another winger maybe even a starting one.

This was only the case it only remain how much we'll give city. Does look we agreed with Jesus and his agents since weeks ago the Sp**s links are just noise.

Is there anything to suggest that this "golden era" won't continue for the next few years? By the sounds of it they're going to back a world class manager with the players he wants.

A "Golden Era" that has yielded zero trophies.

How is it that you've come to the conclusion they're on par with us?

See the strategy, first Gabriel Jesus, then Gundagon, then try for Frimino and maybe Wijnaldum.

Make a City / Liverpool hybrid super team, of all the players that they don't want. Cushty.

They have a better team than us because we have no world class players. World class players show up every game.
When you put it like that it's incredible we managed to stay in the mix for top 4 for as long as we did.

With Son & Kane & then Kulu, they have proven game changers & match winners..

We don't. Saka maybe, but not to same extent.

I heavily doubt we sign someone like Tammy/Victor/Darwin on top of Jesus.
All reports are suggesting Jesus and Tielemans are the priorities currently and treated as the star signings this window.
I think the club will try its hardest to extend Eddie, if we can't he'll get replaced but I doubt we'll spend more 40m on the replacement. And then there's the Pepe which again will probably be another versatile forward.
Think it depends whether Pepe goes to be honest. Pepe leaves then we'll spend again and Jesus can cover the right wing spot. There's always the question of whether we'll be able to successfully attract two major striker targets as well. It's not straightforward to bring in two superstars. We should try though.

Won't happen, but one of Bissouma or Phillips should be an absolute priority as cover and competition for Partey as well.
