Gabby doesn't play on the right side of our defense.
You really like to embarass yourself.
Both goals were due to his bizarre changes. The pass was right where Gabby or Saliba would’ve been in a back 4, right down middle, in Mik’s new back 3 no one there. You embarrass yourself by pretending Havertz is a footballer

I repeat, Gabby wouldn't have been there, he plays on the left side of defense.
Have you watched the match at all?

It was the 3rd match with same defense setting.
You think that they don't practise this tactics stuff in trainings?

Only LB was different due to Timber's injury and Tomiyasu's red card.
Saka's pass to void was on the right side of defense and Partey was already in the midfield.
So Kiwior had nothing to do with this goal, he played LB.

Mik threw off the entire team. It was a shock benching of a popular player who leads your defense and then your team drops to a weak team. Obviously on first goal and second goal Arsenal missed Gabby and were struggling with a weird enforced and unpopular change.

He was tasked with marking Rogers throughout. Rogers got the better of him couple of times dangerously (one with Saliba recovery) and as usual making mistakes with the ball.

He makes a great partnership with Saliba but he's not it for me

His bozo moments nearly cost us.

As good as he is, he has that soft bozo underbelly which I fear will cost us in the business end of tournaments and the league..

Tbf you’re bound to make an error here and there, even Saliba does it but people overlook that. Gabriel was exceptional last season and barely put a foot wrong. Noticed he done the little dink pass which started the play for Partey’s goal - top top.

I fully trust him against most attackers in the PL, I think him and Saliba will make lightwork of Haaland in a few weeks once again.

As much as people don't like to admit it, he will naturally get replaced by Calafiori. Excellent player , but too many brain farts. Will be a perfect sub though.

I actually also think the final form of our back line is White Saliba Cala Timber but I don’t think it’s Gabi’s brain farts. It’s true he used to make too many errors but last season he grew out of that and besides his role as the more proactive defender will always make it seem as though he’s error prone (look at Saliba for France where he has the same more pro active role and makes the odd error).

The reason he will get replaced by the end of the season imo is simply because Arteta wants someone who is better on the ball, even if it’s someone like Cala where the delta between their on the ball ability is less imo than their defensive ability so it’s a very questionable “upgrade”.

I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, I’m just saying I can see Arteta doing it and yeah I’m also seeing a lot of people here in denial about the possibility of it happening.

I can definitely see Gabriel getting sold next summer.

You just ruined my holiday.

My guess is that Calafiore will be our dedicated LB and my man Gabriel will be a mainstay for years to come.

Timber is not an inverted LB and looks average there. Much prefer Calafiore moving like Kiwior with White inverting.

Gabriel is more important than Saliba for our defense, never understood why people are so intent on wanting to destroy it. Saliba himself understands this.

If he throws himself to the floor like a clown gifting the opposition a chance, that's because his manager instructs him to do so. On those kind of moments he's not the issue at all.

Gabby is also the leader. Vocal. Barking out commands. Constantly involved.

He has his mistakes, just like Saliba.

Wouldn't trade either or their partnership for any other player or CB duo in the world.

Agreed on the former, the latter, not so much. Every player has what I call immutable attributes .. You know there is always a moment of a defensive fart in Zinchenko, or GMart overrunning a ball. I can recall three instances of Gabriel deciding to hold on to the ball in defensive possession and getting dispossessed . Two seasons ago, he tried to outmuscle Mitrovic and conceded a goal. In another instance, I believe against Leeds, he ended up in a tussle and was saved by VAR as he was adjudged to be fouled. Then there was last weekend. Basically what I am saying is, there is a screw up in the man...always waiting to come out.

More like diarrhea with Zinchenko.

Loved his pass to Trossard in the build up to Partey’s goal, thought he was fouled for Watkins’ Chance though it reminded me of how it could have been a foul verse Chelsea when Havertz scored from Ødegaard’s pass.

This clumsy oaf has ruined our title chances in back to back summers. His flirtation with Saudi causing him to be benched and injuring the only player we have who would acknowledge Martinelli's existence now that Fabio left the club.
