Nah, Adams/Bould and Adams/Keown are better. I would say Campbell and Toure is better too just because Campbell is an all time PL great.

This is just the modern era, others could go back further and name defenders and partnerships. Standards hare high.

Gabriel has been a monster and so much deserves a title win so can go down amongst our greats.

Too young to genuinely comment on any title wins before the invincibles but the only defender i would have from that back 4 atm is ashley cole. Our defense and rice are probably the only reason we stayed relevant last season. If we win the league this season our defense is better IMO considering the level displayed by saliba/gabriel in the last 3-4 years. I mean the one time we made the CL final we set a CL defensive with senderos at CB. Campbell didnt play all season until the final. Senderos >campbel

I'm obviously kidding and no doubt sol was colossal. I just think even if we fail to win the title this year it won't be because saliba and gabriel aren't good enough and im not sure i would pick peak campbel/toure over them on current form

Lucky enough to see O'Leary, Adams (debut included 17 yo v Sunderland 1983 ), Keown (both spells), Bould, Cambpell, Kolo etc live all top class defenders and in various combinations.

Gabriel and Saliba are certainly up there quality wise as a pair excellent, all that's missing is the prizes next to their names. Win a league or two and other silverware they get into any conversation about great modern Arsenal CB's.

It's not just reliant on them of course but harsh realities are to be considered great players you have to be winning major trophies.

If that happens + win the title then we can have those conversations imo. I just can't see us getting near that record tbh; it was done in an era when the average goals scored was far lower than what it is now. Even getting to within 10 goals of that number would be a top achievement.
