Hope he has more than the three week break players generally get, been a long season for him club and country. Every game, every week Arsenal and Brazil been high pressure stakes, he has a PL title in his pocket and has developed into a WC CB that ANY team would take.

It's weird man - Haaland is easily in the top 3 of most powerful CF's I've ever seen. He averages almost 1 goal per game and ****ing idiots acting like it's surprising that he gets the better of top defenders like Gabriel.

Newsflash - football is such that a striker only needs one opportunity to get the better of a defender (by scoring) while a defender needs to get the better of him in every situation (usually way more than one) to shut them out. Henry talks about this in the recent podcast with Rio. The dynamic is heavily skewed in favour of attackers to come out looking better.

He's the Martin Keown of the 2020s, tbh...ask most forwards from the 90s which player they hate the most and they will say Keown with how much of a "physical" defender he was lol, even loads of older fans still hate Martin now with how he ragdolled their fav players

He does however need to figure out how this gimp keeps beating him for positioning for his own sake. Fortunately for him, Saka and Rice will avenge him immediately and send the orc home.

Yes but as has been pointed out, strikers claim the upper hand when they outsmart a defender once in a game - defenders have to perform flawlessly over 90/120 minutes - and maybe even score a penalty - to gain equality. Haaland is also a melty faced freak of nature.

Haaland is a generational striker in terms of movement,power, size and agility. I don't think there is a cb in the world that can shut him down all the time alone, it takes a team effort. Doesn't make Gabriel less of a player.

Gabriel x Saliba were pocketing this guy over a few games and then once it properly became beef between Gabriel and Haaland, there unfortunately hasn’t been a contest.

There's nothing wrong with playing into it but then you have to be up to the task. What's interesting is that as horrendous as the Carabao cup defeat was, Haaland did absolutely nothing because Saliba marked him pretty much exclusively, maybe in part because Hincapie was on the yellow and getting rinsed by Semenyo meaning Gabriel had to help out a bit. For the team, it's probably better that Saliba deals with him because he's quicker and Haaland seems less capable of getting under his skin.

Your last sentence is key though. He had a really good WC outside of that moment and he shouldn't let this rattle him. Just get back to work and come back stronger.
