Should be resting fml

The idea of elite athletes resting for a prolonged period is a complete and utter fantasy.

Athletes don't sit around being inactive in the off season. They didn't become the elite athletes they are by having a fat boy mentality of resting up in a recliner for 4 weeks during the summer.

They are active players in their 20's, full of energy and full of testosterone AND are millionaires with all the free time in the world during the off season. They will likely be training EVERY SINGLE DAY, unless they hate training like your Ronaldinho's or Hazard's - then they'll come back fat.

Check the videos of the players that returned from holidays. Ben White's like - I have been training every day.

It astounds me how overly concerned fans are for the health and well being of professional athletes. These man multi million pound finely tuned assets with elite mentality who push their bodies to the limit and internet people cry all day about wanting them to rest. It's hilarious - and If they get injured - it's ****ing normal. It's the risk they are willing to take for pushing the limits.

Yeah remember Gyok last summer not training for just a few weeks, took him months to get up to speed

Think we need to keep an eye on him this season.

Hes had a few blows to the gut recently, the penalty miss and getting dunked on by Haaland in the WC.

I think he was showing signs in the second half of last season that physically he’s not at his absolute peak anymore.

I’m not of a fan of him and Mosquera together either. Can see why Mikel wants another steady guy in there.

Wut? He is 28 mate, not 38
We played like 60 games, of course he won't be 100% every game in the second half of the season

Otherwise I do agree that it will be interesting how he responds with his buddy being out for significant time

Sometimes I think that Gabriel doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's not as flashy as Saliba.

In his own way he is just as good. He's an absolute rock and deserves to be in the conversation for best in the world too.

I don't know, I feel like the exact opposite is true, Saliba is slick and efficient without standing out for someone that doesn't pay attention to the details of the game, Gabriel on the other hand is very dynamic, aggressive, spins to break the press and release the ball, in general much more eye-catching.

Arsenal Quotes

I knew we were very different, that he (Ferguson) had a total hold over his club while at that time I was still more of a coach. I also recognised his huge qualities. He knew how to surround himself with the right people and didn't rest on his laurels when he was successful.
