• To all AM members and guests.

For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Please support both these initiatives and help ensure the long term future of our site.

You may discuss this in the thread

I love this kid like my own family.

But he’s done here. Been given every opportunity. No room for sentimentality. And whatever your feelings I think Artetas already made the call in his mind (barring a season long miracle upturn of form)

What non-elite, non-world class, LW could thrive in Arteta's current offense?

You know, just a good LW. Could they be successful?

Don't think just a good LW is enough, because we are competing at a level where you need game changers like Saka to win games. Liverpool have Salah, Diaz, Jota. If we are settling for a 'good' LW we can give plenty of game time to Trossard and Martinelli.

If we add a top player on the left the team will automatically look for the left side more too I think. Now we know our RW is by far the best chance to score a goal, with Saka and Ødegaard creating something out of nothing.

"Now let's talk about Ricky Martinelli, aka the Peruvian Brazilian...there is no way this guy grew up in the favelas with his 'skills', if he did someone would have thrown him in a boot of a car YEARS ago!"

he put on an inch perfect low cross you would expect your striker to tap in. Sadly Jesus was on his heels

He frustrated and it's good to see he know he been not good. But only himself will fix it Arteta not gonna teach him basics Martinelli is 23. Do the basics right the rest will be easier

He could have easily been sent off yesterday - you can see he's clearly frustrated. He needs to get over it and just continue to work on his weaknesses.

He's so unskilful it's hilarious. For a Brazilian especially.

I reckon his mates just used to make him run onto long balls.

Preferably somewhere else. Guy is a trash player. He has played 50 games too many for arsenal already. He’s so bad that I can see the club in a desperate situation just take rashford

Played like crap. He will either take a step forward in the level of play, or it's time to say goodbye.

Not his fault. Everyone with eyes can see he struggles tremendously against teams like Everton that defend with numbers, yet he still keeps playing over the other guys.

Hard to believe that the Gabriel Martinelli from 22/23 would turn out this way. He's completely finished now. The whole left side of the team doesn't work - big investment needed at LW and LCM needed.

Arsenal Quotes

When I first came to Arsenal, I realised the back four were all university graduates in the art of defending. As for Tony Adams, I consider him to be a doctor of defence. He is simply outstanding.
