For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Again I want to return on something that was said before. Martinelli is not a touchline winger. Give him time to think and he is dead.
Today's game is the perfect example. He is a channel runner finisher. He is at his best when playing on instinct.

He was very good. Generally more suited to the CL.
Yeah outside of the elite teams it seems the average European FB is a lot slower than those in the PL. You see it with Saka too who isn’t a speed demon but is still effortlessly running past most of these guys.

That + the more adventurous play styles in Europe mean that Nelli is eating good. The plan to keep him and increase his value seems to be working so far.

Said this during the game before the goal. Firm believer the way you use Martinelli is that his first touch is inside the box or to get inside the box. He shouldn't be carrying the ball because that's when his head goes down

MLS is exactly who you want with Martinelli, he can slip him in behind but we seemingly refuse to fashion space and time on the left, always only the right

Makes us easier to defend against

We need to address the unbalanced nature of our attack to become unstoppable

Remember when the usual suspects were telling us we should have sold him for 10m last summer?
@A_G do you think we could sell Martinelli to Villa for example? Would be a good move for him & Emery knows him. Feels like Arsenal never really wanted him gone except for a big offer from Saudis for example (which was never happening).

It reminds me of the Thierry Henry quote when he said that he needed to tailor his movement and passing to the players around him. Each player needed a different movement or type of pass to be effective, once he understood this, his game took off to a different level.

If players can understand the type of ball and the areas on the pitch that makes Martinelli effective, we unlock him.

Absolutely on fire. Looks a new man. He starts the passage of play that leads to his goal with trademark good defensive work and then everything after that is perfect.
