Gabriel Martinelli: Got That Dog In Him

That missed chance was really bad.
He actually dribbled and got himself to the box many times but just keeps failing to capitalize on it. Disappointing.

I thought he had a decent game tbh, especially the shift he put in defensively. Going the other way he started brightly but after failing to convert the chance he should've passed to Saka he seemed to go into his shell a lot.

In the first half he was actually good aside from the obvious bad miss. Went past people like his old self & contributed tremendously on defence

He tried but again not enough to produce something useful he need to sort this decision making we been saying it for months now

Like I've been saying for far too long now, he's a really nice kid, works hard and I think we all wish he would figure things out but I don't see how anyone could look at what our ambitions are trying to take down City and win the CL and think that he's good enough to start for a team with those goals. It's a clear weak spot in the XI.

I don’t think today is really the day to have a go at him. People know I really want him out the starting XI as soon as possible, but he was great today.

Immense in his defensive work rate and was our best attacker. He made silly decisions, but we’re all used to that with him by now.

One of his better matches. He was the threat that kept Sp**s honest.

Of course, still needs to get his head up, but we knew that already.

Was a positive today. Much more involved compared to his last games.

& you could see how important his defensive game is after he was subbed off compared to Sterling ones.

That's, like, your opinion, man.

Can't deny he helped a lot defensively but he should be nowhere near the starting lineup for 90% of the games

Not a dig at you, but I had a feeling we're going to be seeing this "defensive winger" stuff come up more and more often.
