It's not really scapegoating, it goes beyond Martinelli
People are desperate to convince themselves about something their eyes disagree with. Their eyes see set piece fc, they want to think otherwise. They need to think otherwise because this is Arsenal FC. You don't spend like 2 decades mocking this style of play to just embrace it at the affordable price of 700+million.

So they keep throwing words like margins around and overstating this simple chance as if we weren't lucky to get a point thanks to Robinson playing Saliba onside in that corner

Nelli gets a lot of heat, but he came from
6th tier of Brazillian football, his YouTube comp was was played on farm land. He’s done remarkable to go get to the level he has.

I think he’s reached his potential though, I’d cash in for a big bid but as a squad player he’s a really good option.

I wish to thank him for his service.

There’s no big bid coming for him. Kid is on 180k. Very few clubs can get near those numbers. Mid table Seria A club is where I see him at and you not gonna get more than 15 million. Hence he will stay for long time

Yeh we can get £35-40m of almost pure profit. Time to say goodbye imo. No ill feelings at all I like the kid.

Teams will pay a good sum for Gabby, when crap like Antony Gordon, Antony, Savinho, Mitoma, Barnes all get quoted and offered 50+M then Gabby is worth more.

None of those players were even on half the money Martinelli when they moved. Gordon at Everton earned yearly what Martinelli makes in 3 weeks.

Savinho was €25m mate. Also incredibly young and bought for his upside off the back of a superb season in La Liga. Gordon and Mitoma are both clear of Martinelli and on way lower wages, pushing up the potential fees. Have not seen anyone talk about Barnes as a £50m+ player tbh

Martinelli's wages are a genuine problem if you wanted to move him on, he got offered big starter wages off the back of a great season and has since not been anywhere near that level. If he isn't willing to lower his wages you basically need to sell to a top 6-8 PL club and I don't see anyone willing to take on his wages + pay the fee Arsenal would want in a potential deal.

Think he stays as a squad player because the fee to sell him would be so low it'd be borderline pointless, better keep him around and see if he can find some top form again and regain some value.

Hmmm that’s debatable. Definitely the case if we were chatting in 23 Summer. His stock and confidence is down, numbers are super low for 18months now.

I’m happy with £40-45m personally. Anything more is a bonus.

His wages are fine, 180 a week for a talented starter. The top clubs would take a look at him. He's very highly rated and just turned 23, he's not even in him prime yet.

Lool you trying to convince us how good he is. I hope you right. I see a loan to seria a with 20 million sale at best.

I don't rate him that much, but he'll go for big money, this isn't Eddie/Nelson we're talking about.

Thankfully Edu isn't here either.

I like Martinelli don't get me wrong but I really think it's time for an upgrade on the left, been good for a number of years but he's probably backup level at best, we really need someone at Nico Williams level on the left if we want to continually fight for the title. He's probably not at our needed level but still, a club like Wolves could do with him however no lower PL club may come calling, probably couldn't match his wage.
