Factually incorrect. Not only did he play in the olympics he also scored. Try getting it right before you **** on one of our young players . 🙄
He wasn't a starter, though. Anyways, this:

Every ****ing thread is an Arteta bashing. How utter boring and uninspirirng.

How about reflecting on other aspects of football? Yes you, simpleton!
is totally correct. So tedious and boring, and leaves no room for actual nuanced discussion of football. ie what in theory we come to this forum for.

That wasnt what he stated. He said martinelli was not used to insinuate that the player was not good enough for the team. When clearly he played, he featured in at least 3 of the games if i remember and scoring a penalty against Mexico in the Semi.

Strangely Martinelli was not used in the Brazilian Olympic team

Agree that in some threads the Arteta bashing is a bit much, however the original point raised here is that Arteta does not rate Martinelli and we should sell him.

Not sure what you were expecting, selling a talented young player just because our current (unpopular) coach doesn't play him is going to be controversial.

That's a bit of a nonsense point though. There's zero evidence Arteta doesn't rate him. There's evidence that we're a club who isn't playing European football, and he's obviously not going to get into the team before Pepe or ESR, one of which is currently on the bench. He's started two games when this wasn't the case and started the cup games. This is just the reality for him now. Nothing to do with Arteta not rating him...

In some preseason interview, arteta name dropped only gabi and esr as having something special (forgot exact quote) in entire squad. Arteta not rating him is coming out of nowhere.
So what a manager says in interviews holds more weight than playing a player…..

Arteta has played him every opportunity, right? He's not getting in ahead of Saka, ESR, Pepe. Could have been sent on loan, but then we might have been left short in case of an injury.

We play once a week. We don’t need 28 man squad, that’s why some of us were calling for him and balugon go out on loan.
One of them surely should have gone on loan, I agree. But not both considering our injury record.

That's, like, your opinion, man.

Report in Brazil yesterday that he's fallen down the pecking order and he isn't liking it (sourcing the mirror, so pinch of salt needed) and that Arteta said he needed to do more and manage being on the bench a bit better.

Apart from the Brighton game. Was there any other game where you thought Martinelli should have come on?

Didn't watch Brighton game but to be honest, no.

Loan leaves us too short, but I couldn't justify starting him with everybody fit. Arteta could be a bit more liberal with the subs, but that's still not enough for him.

He's way off ESR and even he's not guaranteed starting every match so it's difficult.

He needs a loan, because he hasn't been that good after the injury. The problem is his contract, which ends in 2024, unless there is an option for another year like we nowadays usually have.

Maybe we will loan him in January, and hope he starts performing? Pretty sure he won't extend with this kind of game-time, and like Macho says, he is clearly behind Saka, ESR & Pepe.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
