Champions League group game g/a mean very little at this stage. It's such a stress free environment and the perfect games to watch live, pretty much no jeopardy til the knockouts. Wherein mr martinelli racked up a single assist in 7 and wasn't relied upon much at all!

You do realize that's still cheaper than keeping him on a 100k a week wage for a full year in that scenario right?

We’d sell Saka for 75m and AM would find a way to justify it. Pathetic the fees we get for our players. James Trafford worth more than Martinelli ffs, 25 year old PL winner, CL experience and Brazil international.

The issue is Arsenal are one of the most watched teams in the world and said world has watched Martinelli stall (tbh stall is being kind, he seems to be getting worse) for years now.

With each year teams have less hope in him improving and his resale value gets lower and lower. Compare that to Savinho (still can’t believe I’m hearing 80M) who is only 22 and hasn’t really been given the platform to show that he’s crap. The buying team hopes he can improve and worst case they can still sell him for a decent fee in two years as a 24 year old.

Oh and the cherry on top of all of that is that his wages are so high that the only teams who can afford him as a squad player are teams who are too elite to even entertain signing a guy like him in the first place.

There isn’t some magical/unfortunate reason why we’re so bad at selling. We just do dumb sh*t.

At least Madueke is home grown. The fact Madueke who arrived with a 50M fee in 2025 is still on less wages than what we gave Martinelli tells you all you need to know. IIRC Eze’s on less wages too and that was a blockbuster signing.

Tbh I understand why he was given that.

Outstanding break out season, looked a world class talent and we were building the team around young players.

Edu got scared he would leave for peanuts and offered him way too much money as a base wage.

What I can't really excuse is doing it again with Noni if his 150k (is it not more?) a week wages are true.
