It could be worse for Martinelli, you know.

good idea for Ødegaard next summer
I'm happy that Martinelli is staying with us. I see a lot of good in him... BUT tbh, I just can't let go of players I've liked at some point. If it were up to me, Jenkinson would probably still be our full-back 🙄
I understand, Suker would be striker if it was up to me

It's the perfect situation for him.

Like you said, Martinelli is surrounded by NT colleagues, already has a foot in the door, and plays for a top-5 league champion.

Playing for Brazil these days is cutthroat unless you rub the right shoulders with the CBF. @El Duderino will know better than I do, but from what I've read, reputation and first impressions matter. The only exceptions are the 'top european clubs' or domestic ones.

If he moves to Turkey that might be it for him on a reputational level, even though it really shouldn't be.

Eeeeh agent stuff in call ups usually happens to guys that are playing in Brazil, imo.

Cases like Ederson getting called up, inexplicably being played against Norway and failing his medical at United jump the eye too much for them to constantly happen.

Plus we used to have a number of guys from Shaktar et al all getting called up not long ago in merit.

He's not losing his spot anytime soon, imo, even at Galatasaray. Also think Carlo loves him because he's a work horse.

At worst, Ancelotti keeps him until he transitions the team into something that is more his image and less of a last minute job hail mary that was his stint up until the world cup.

As far as the other Brazilian guys here, I don't know how tight he is with them. Were they even at his wedding this summer?

Maybe Roc Nation and the player himself see it differently, but to me playing for Galatasaray - while "risky" - has a lot more upside from a sporting perspective than remaining here and just confirming to other teams he has plateau'd.

Could also be simpler than that and that they just don't think Gala/Turkey is a good brand?

Either way, yeah it is too comfortable for him here and the best way to change that is to sign the upgrade the club have been obviously looking for for the past three seasons.

Unless Tzolis is a complete dud, both Christos and the impossible to land LW upgrade mean he won't see the pitch much.

We aren't selling because he doesn't want to go? He's not a club legend, GFY.

If he would take a paycut I would keep him but thats not gonna happen. So it's the right time to sell. Problem is do we get a replacement? A talent? Or go all in on a big LW?

1000000% Tzolis starts ahead of Martinelli
Unless we sign someone else / martinelli leaves, then i expect the lw minutes to be relatively fairly split between tzolis, martinelli and eze.

Martinelli has not kicked on, but he retains a lot of qualities which will get him minutes

Yeah, we should flog them

How about being more wise when deciding which salary to give them?
The salary thing becomes bit silly talks when I see man city players go Saudi at his prime career and he earns same. We make it very comfortable to our players we not demands them to move we afraid because we too classy to do this. And of course we making it easy for him to stay because we never upgrading this position

Martinelli can't even displace Trossard as a starter for important matches.

I actually like that guy but just not as a left winger. He is a central player.

On the wings he is just limited and tunneled vision

Didn't Arteta said Arsenal would be ruthless and make some tough decisions? We're still being too soft and accommodating with these players. If we're waiting for him to leave before we get in the new LWer then we're screwed. I have nothing against him; he's been a good servant for the club but his time with us is up.
