martinelli is an amazing player but dont ask him to pass the ball. without worrying about having to pass, he is deadly and instinctive.

He always look hungry after returning from injury or from long absence in the starting xi.

Icr but I think it was @Trilly that said we shouldn't be allowing him so much touch of the ball. His biggest asset is his off the ball movement. The reason he became crap I'd because we using him like Saka amd trying to make him a creative outlet. But he's Vardy-like off the ball runner who stretches defense with his pace. He's a big asset who teams push and try to squeeze us and press high up the pitch.

absolutely

glad he still very young 24yo, still have a lot room for improvement to fix his career and become deadly inside forward (after disaster performance last 2 season become touchline winger)

He was never a touchline winger. An inside forward or a striker has always been his destiny

Martinelli is so effective as a sub that he can fool people, and especially Arteta, that he deserves to start for us, but he is not good enough to start for us anymore and he is a liability in these matches.

His inability to retain possession makes him useless in the build up and as a result the opposition gets more and more possession, and they grow increasingly more confident. We saw this with Chelsea today.

Ironically, Martinelli's speed should allow him to be a threat on the counter, but he's not big enough or strong enough to win ground or aerial duels. And as a result, he gets overpowered when we try to use him as an outlet and now his speed is irrelevant.

He offers next to nothing as a starter.

As a sub, he's brilliant because he's facing tired legs and teams that are searching for a goal. This means there is a lot of space behind the defense that he can run into, and he's great at that. But he's not great at anything else.

When I saw his name in the starting lineup, I knew it was going to be a rough match today.

Some people I know thought ‘Marti is back’ after his CL performances, but I think he’s doing a fantastic job to have value as a super sub, and that’s all.

With Trossard improving this season there’s a clear gap between these 2. Eze and Madueke are probably better options at LW too.

Marti can and will still add a lot to this team, but more in a bit part // impact role in the league.

He is clearly 'super sub' / 'finisher'. As a starter he doesn't have what it takes.
True although I will say that even as a starter, the floor of his performances is much higher this season than in the last couple of years.

I liked how he, Eze and Merino were rotating positions against Chelsea. Merino was frequently dropping to midfield, Eze was switching to LW and Martinelli in a more central role at times. Always kept Chelsea defenders on their toes.
We didn't manage to create many chances, but I love the idea of that kind of fluid attack. Sometimes we're too static when Ødegaard and Gyokeres are playing.

Loves the greater space afforded to him in the CL. Needs to move to a club where he gets that space week in and out.

I really like Arsenal. But you, do you like Arsenal? Or just Arsenal with Trophies?
