Hello, you wiser ones. In addition to Nwaneri and Osman Kamara, are there other players in the youth system who could realistically still end up in the first team in the next few years?

England started their U17 World Cup campaign by beating New Caledonia 10-0.

Lewis-Skelly got an assist and won a penalty; while Nwaneri came off the bench to score and assist a goal. Didn't watch as I was asleep but seemed like a doddle. No doubt they'll be challenged when they face Brazil in the same group!

Today I learnt that there is a place called "New Caledonia".

What are the chances of Charles Sagoe Jr & Amario Cozier Duberry making it into our 1st team squad eventually? If not which current academy players have the best chances?

Very little in my opinion. But think they will have decent careers for them selves if they continue on the path they are currently on.

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are our golden boys.

This kid gives me Haaland vibes honestly.
I get more Ibra/Isak in terms of style but he does score a ton of goals like Haaland. Need to see how quickly he acclimatises to a higher level as he'll soon be getting U18/21 minutes. He just has every tool you need to succeed to a high level, it'll hopefully be an interesting journey that culminates in said success. We've need a 9 to really move the needle out of Hale End, and we've had quite a few potentials but this is the biggest prospect at 9 for an extremely long time. Even Balogun didn't have this hype until his 2nd year scholarship.

BTW THERE'S MORE!

Max Dowman is 13 years old guys. Following the Nwaneri blueprint so far.

I think they're gonna have a hard time. Cozier-Duberry IMO has the quality to do it but opportunity is extremely scarce for him at the moment as Sagoe Jr is more favoured.

Arteta being as stingy as he is with them makes it difficult to see many making the grade outside of Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly as they're too OP to be denied. Walters and Sousa should be in consideration and to a large extent Cozier-Duberry but unless they hit the ground running immediately (if they ever hit the ground that is), don't bet on it.

Osman Kamara is another interesting name but it's doubtful he makes the grade aswell. The LW is overloaded with players and while he has an interesting profile, he has to really pull up trees when the opportunity comes. Not sure of his ceiling but I really like him.

As said, Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are the obvious candidates and I will be unpleasantly surprised if they don't make it.

He seems to have huge physical advantage at U16 though. Not saying he isn’t talent. But he should not play at that level anymore

He only played that game because there were no other games on and Denmark u17s weren't playing. Bit like Vieira and Nelson playing vs Reading midweek.
