Thought I may as well create this since well you know. Celtic. But also it appears increasingly likely Steven Gerrard will be breaking his managerial cherry by taking over at Rangers.

Hope he knows what he is in for. If he thinks scrutiny is tough at Liverpool it's just about to get a lot tougher.
Interesting to see Gerrard taking charge. Guy does love an underdog position doesn’t he?

Big name for Rangers though, should help them somewhat in the recruitment department.

Rodgers vs Gerrard, interesting.

Sky running with it also. Mental decision.
Might be bad for your lot in terms of loans, they obviously won't catch you but they'll get a few very good youngsters from the PL you'd think.

Can't see it impacting Celtic. Gerrard may get a couple of loans via Liverpool and that's about it. I can't see many other teams sending players there without something in return and unfortunately Rangers are in dire straits financially.

Can't understand this.
They sacked Murty because he "didn't have the experience needed for the job" but now they're doing it again just because Gerrard's a big name. ****ing crazy.
Even worse that Rangers fans think this a genius decision, and he'll attract big names to help them challenge Celtic.
This has the potential to go very sour, very very quickly, the Rangers fans are demanding instant success

Is there any suggestion Gerrard is going to be a good coach? It seems like a really odd choice. He was a fantastic player, but always seemed rather undisciplined tactically and played very much on instinct with his god given talent. He doesn't come across well either as a football pundit on tv, I know that isn't saying much, but he just doesn't sound particularly astute on football!

Guess he has to start somewhere and the spl is the equivalent of league 1 or 2 where most ex players are encouraged to start. Good luck to him.

Guess Rangers gets first choice of Liverpool litter & pretty much any young English talent looking for a loan.

Bit of heat with Brent must be motivation as well to take the job.

It may go tits up but fair play to him for having the balls to take it on. More balls than people like Giggs ever had. Up the gers!

That’s what’s crazy to me, watching the news reports interviewing fans they’re expecting to be back where they were 15 years ago.

The expectations are so high he’s surely set up to fail. Do they have any decent financial backing for him at all?

None. What so ever. Their owner a glib liar and convicted tax evader still hasn't complied with the take over panel ruling to make an offer to buy the remaining shares in Rangers. Roughly 11m is required. They are racking up debt and have zero European money to bank on. Their stadium is crumbling and lucky to have a safety certificate to operate. They have no money.

I've always been leaning more towards Rangers in the SPL, so hopefully Gerrard turns out to be a decent fit for them.

Back to back trebles for Celtic. Man alive is that league knackered. there's only one man who can sort this out and he couldn't play in a midfield two with Lampard.
