This is a good wee game. How long does Tah stay at Leverkusen for we think? Looks like he's built for the PL.

Or do Bayern just replace Hummels and Boateng with Sule and Tah? There must be some sort of law against that, pretty sure it's in the Geneva Convention.

there are better young central defenders in the Buli than Tah.

He's good though, I'm still not utterly convinced by him yet, but he's definately looking better this season. And yes, his build - you would think he'd be suited to the prem for sure!

Bayern looking rather assured. There's so much quality in that squad all over the pitch. Nonetheless apart from the goals, there haven't been any clear cut chances for them. This kind of assured but patchy performance maybe wins you this game, but surely not the one against Real Madrid.

Leverkusen looking good, too. I like their fluid 4-2-4/4-3-3 defensive shape as well as their controlled pressing and them attacking second balls. But they desperatly need to get their passing during counter attacks right. They always look dangerous breaking, Bayern look vulnerable relying on the individual quality of Boateng/Hummels in those situations. Leverkusen need to fix that and they're back in the game big time.

I expect a fast 1:4 now.

solid prediction!

I couldn't care less - or more - about Leverkusen. Absolute neutrals to me. But they have a nice crop of exciting young players: Bailey, Brandt, Havertz, Henrichs, Retsos, Tah, Wendell.

Along Volland, Alario, Bellarabi, Aranguiz, Kohr, the Bender brothers and Leno they could built a very good, modern squad able to play a similar style to Klopp's Liverpool. If they can add a dynamic central mid in the mold of Keita, maybe a winger/10/CM hybrid ala Golovin/Kovalenko/Zivkovic and a versatile defender, they have a good squad with decent depth.

If they go about their business the right way, they could take the Bayern challenger no. 1 spot vacated by Dortmund.

Bayern are so quality under Heynckes. They always, always patiently play their game and they've got so much quality to make that count. There's not an ounce of doubt within that team. Similar to Real Madrid.

Look at this game: They look solid, but not exceptional, they get two early goals, then Leverkusen gets back into the game with a goal. Instead of trying to force the issue, rush or panic and go all out attack, they just keep on doing their thing sternly and focused - and it gets them 4 goals and sure victory without breaking a sweat. And you always have the feeling they can go up another gear if they need to.

Same thing with the second leg against Sevilla. They looked solid, but not really threatening. But they didn't need to. They had the away game to Gladbach coming up on Saturday as well as the DFB semis tonight. But you still always had the feeling they could take it up a notch, without deferring from their overall game plan. Heynckes' game plans are so applied and assured and he's so good at managing his squad fitness, mentality and performance wise.

^ Bayern player Monchengladbach at home.

Agreed regarding Jupp. He is an intelligent coach and knows how to manage his team involved in different competitions. The opposite of Pep the obsessive compulsive and “perfectionist.”

Bayern should never have let Jupp go, maybe they would’ve retained the CL ahead of Real Madrid with the team they had at the time.

Anyway good win for Bayern and hopefully the double is still on the cards. Still think Real Madrid are HUGE favorites in the CL SF and it will take a superhuman effort from Jupp and Bayern to somehow stop RM.

Schalke - Frankfurt tonight, probably much more interesting than yesterday's game. Two very tactical and intelligent managers up against each other.

More interesting?

That could be a 2. Bundesliga game so far. Both aren't able to do something with the ball. Probably Schalke will score after a corner or free kick.

Bit boring so far, but more interesting as in it actually being a contest, rather than Bayern steamrolling everyone.

Imagine a poverty player like Goretzka being your best player. For the second best team that is.

Absolute state of German football. Bayern are true scumbags.

Nagelsmann is destroying everything at the moment.

Imagine he would manage Dortmund or Bayern...

0:3 for Hoffenheim at half time against Leipzig.
