Beveren's Gervinho linked for the summer move

Full name: Kouassi Gervais 'Yao' Gervinho
He is a 19-year old striker. That I don't think we need, but the connection with the club was strong over the years. This link seems valid, and if he is an excellent player, that never hurts to have in your team. Anybody knows more about him?

Mesauring 1.79m and weighing 69 kgs, might he not be a bit lightweight for the Premiership?
I know that one could highlight Cannavaro and Touré as 'undersized' defenders who have become worldclass. However, for every Touré, there are plenty of Reyes-type players who just can't deal with the phsical side of the Premiership. A filthy, throwback, clogging centreback like Chris Morgan would destroy a tiny forward on a Sheffield Utd type pitch

I'm all for Ivorians, even the smaller ones seem to have the toughness for the Prem...Would also like to see us reinstitute the Bevern feeder club link...

1.79m = 5'10.5". That's pretty normal height for a striker. and the weight will increase with age.

and Toure is 1.83 m, that's not "undersized", taller than Gallas. Cannavaro is 1.76 m, so yeah he's undersized for a central defender.

when was the last time wenger failed when an African joined the club? Lupoli & Aliadiere will certainly leave, Bendtner is likely to leave (meh, who cares) so getting another young striker may not be a bad idea, we have alot of young strikers so 3 out, 1 in wouldn't be a bad idea

The man in the picture is not Gervinho, but Boubacar Copa, the goalie of Beveren.

Sorry!! I found this picture and his name under it. I change it ther will be no more confusion.

Maybe he could go by the name Gervais Gervinho. Work permit would seem to be an issue, but we and everyone else seem to be doing well with this exceptional talent exception.

Belgian Beveren gooners please provide information.

Perhaps he could be played on the wing initially?

Found a video of his recent goal.

Just search with "Gervinho beveren video" on Google and click on the second link of search result.

The link bwtn Gervinho and Arsenal could be just agent talk.
