It's not about reporting a vague interest in a player. It's about having concrete information about a transfer when it's imminent and there are concrete talks. Of course, this is insider information and he has proven that repeatedly.

And ornstein @ing him. Shows he's actually good.

Not pushing it, genuine question. If we have a tweet from Ornstein like the Mosquera one where HOA has been @ by Ornstein, do we wait for Ornstein to post again or do we blot out the other name somehow? Just for future ref.

No Hand of Arsenal stuff, this is the 10th time you ask this and the 10th time we're saying no.

We have a post with all the rules, too.

Taking this opportunity once again to remind you just because something is not on the banned list doesn't mean it's safe to post.

If it's a random journo no one has heard of, check their profile to see what they've been posting before bringing it to the forum, specially when it's something coming from an aggregator transfer junkie like Hagn.

If it's from Turkey or Portugual, treat it the metric ton of salt they deverve, as well. If you want a good example of how to treat this last bit, check out this thread around the time you were banned. We actually had a good discussion on Portuguese sources with no one crying to open or keep the thread closed, this is sort of what we are aiming towards as the baseline.

These rules are to keep the transfer forum from getting messy and to stop the fallout from fake rumours / clickbait. People should be able to get a rough idea of what's been going on without wading through too much nonsense. The rules may evolve over time.

Source Tier List Here
Discuss sources and tier in the correct forum

Sharing rumours / links to players:
  1. Must not be on the banned list. NOTE: Just because it's not there doesn't make it a permited source.
  2. Check it's not a fake account.
  3. Don't just post random people pretending to be ITK.
  4. Don't pretend you are ITK...
  5. If Tweet isn't English, post the translation.
  6. Bonus points for checking the Tier list and banned source list.
When are player threads locked?
  1. If a Tier 1 rules it out.
  2. It gets bumped when there hasn't been any kind of decent link for ages.
  3. Discussion goes off topic for too long.
When are player threads created?
  1. If a Tier 1 or 2 links us.

Thank you for your interest in our affairs.

How is this:

concrete information? None of the information in that post wasn't already in the report from May.

Even Chris Wheatley "reported" (he had read the Cadena SER article obviously) about this before HandJob.
So you don't see a difference between interested and "ideal defensive choice", while all big journalists like Orstein and Romano are following him minutes later?

According to media, we are interested in every player on this market. The difference is to get informations when deals are getting serious and getting more concrete, like in this deal.

What's the difference between the Cadena SER info and the info in HandJob's post?

He (imo) has a contact in the press/media team at Arsenal. This means that sometimes he might get hold of info around the same time the media breaks it. Him getting stuff like team news half an hour early also points to that. He's never going to be on a Romano level and get stuff directly from agents early in a deal.

Whatever contact he has if ornstein is recognising him he will probably be in touch with agents soon if he isn't already

Ornstein gave him credit because that's the proper thing to do. It doesn't mean anything more than that. We have been here before with Geoff, Camden, TNAT and AFCBell. Eventually their source gets shut down.

Pretty big deal when a journo of that magnitude credits you imo. Don't see Ben Jacobs getting that etc.
