Must know we will sell him if he ask to leave. Just like with Fabregas, he had 5 years on his deal. He only had to ask and we sold him for the same price as Newcastle sold Andy Carroll to Liverpool.

Bellerin is smart. Zero competition. 100k+ per week in wages. And a club that will sell him way under value as soon as he asks.

Yeah I mean he probably will tbf but I think we'll still get fair value from him this time. I think Cesc was a bit unique as he threatened to not come back for pre-season training.

Also I'd like to think that financially we don't have to sell him like we did in 2011 for anything less than fair price. I mean honestly I'd want around 30M seen as that's what Luke Shaw went for.

I hope we go all Monaco on them and milk them to 60 millions. We need some back from the discounts we gave on Fabregas and Henry. Although to be fair they did us favors by taking Song and Vermaelen from us.

I don't see the problem in wanting to further your career. We are stuck in limbo right now and not challenging the elite clubs whereas Barcelona are a high quality team capable of anything on their day. They've won the Champions League about 5 times in the last two decades.

If he feels he can play at a higher level, fair play and good luck. No need to slag off players with ambition - those should be the ones we're aiming to keep; not drive out!

Just generally & especially against teams that sit deep which must make up 90% of games.

Both have lightening speed but average touch, vision & final ball. Feel Hector would be helped with a more rounded wide player & Walcott with a smarter fullback who can put in a cross giving the defender more to think about.

A pretty one dimensional similar duo.
Agree with this, you can see why Bellerin was moved back to fullback. God knows how Walcott got to where he is but yeah, they are quite similar when you put it like that.

onestly if bellerin wants to go then i wont be that upset. when i see him play he is very average at attacking despite him hyped for being good at it. with his pace he should be able to get to the byline and put in a decent cross but he seems incapable. his defensive abilities are also very suspect. although it wasnt his fault when alonso rose above him to score, i am sick and tired of our players being overpowered. someone like sidibe would have gotten rid of that ball. There are plenty of good young right backs who i feel would do just as well or even better. if barca want him then its 50 million (john stones price) and not a penny less. need to get rid of this selling club attitude.

If I were Wenger I'd be calling this boy in asking a) why is he talking to a Barca paper in the first place considering the situation and b) to shut his f**king mouth and get his head down because his performances have been dog **** along with the rest of the team. I can't stand those passive aggressive lines like 'I will focus on this season and then in the summer who knows'. We had all this 'flattered, best club in the world' b*llocks with Cesc. Not having it again, he was happy to sign a long term deal and take a load of money. You don't then in the next step start fluttering your eyes at Barcelona.

Honestly, the stage we're going into now as a club. We don't want any passengers. When your backs are against the wall you can start to sniff out the snakes. Anyone who isn't fully on board with whatever it is we're going to be trying to do might as well just go. He's got 6 years on his deal, we shouldn't be bending over showing our a**e to Barca like we did with Cesc. If they want him, name our hugely inflated price and if they want to pay it they can, if not he can stay where is until they are going to coff up what he's worth.

Agreed, and the Cesc one still rankles. I really hate that we tolerate such behaviour from our players, sitting on the porch with their legs wide open inviting every random passerby for a free show. No player is bigger than the club, and you're one of the world's biggest clubs. Grow some bollocks and get these little sh*ts in line, FFS.

much as i hated van Diveallnight, and much as i wish we had a tenth of that fight in our current swuad, that was pretty tough stuff from some of our guys - i know we got penalised for it afterwards but still we were lucky not to finish with 8 or 9 players on the field

Not our finest hour. If someone had done that to one of ours, we'd be mad. However, I did see something on TV I think, where they showed United earlier in the season and I think they fouled and battered Keown, I think it was, relentlessly and it might have been a bit of payback for that.

actually i remember it was after the final whistle of course, which explains why it was after the match we got penalised

Yes, I doubt if they would have stayed on the pitch, it was after he missed the penalty in the dying seconds which would have won them the match, then we went the season unbeaten

According to metro Bellerin admitted that it would be difficult to say no to Barca:

‘My departure from Barca was a bit bittersweet because of the treatment from some people.'
‘I was not treated the way I would have liked to but it is clear that if Barcelona are interested it would be difficult to say no.’

I wouldn't worry too much as he is on a long contract and Barca don;t like to pay much for players that come through their academy.

The truth is that he needs a spell own the sidelines anyway after showing such poor form recently. I would move Mustafa to right-back and bring in Holding. Something needs a shake up in defence and there is not much left to play for anyway.

True not our finest hour. However that team and those players showed a grit and togetherness that we do not have period.

When bellerin has his head taken off against chelsea, where was our team to protest?

Against bayern on theo pen that was not given he was surrounded by bayern players and no arsenal player came to his aid.

When I watch those clips I dont not feel ashamed but remember a time when we had unbeatable team spirit.

Is that the sequel to the Liam Neeson film?

I preferred calling him Horseface anyway. Cheating b*st*rd.

True. Unfortunately, Wenger has made a rod for his own back opting to keep dross like Debuchy & Jenkinson. Shoehorning players like AMN & Gabriel at RB is no solution either; we need to bring in a specialist to genuinely compete with Bellerin.
